What would happen if I delete /system/xbin?
Would it send me in a boot loop?
Is that the root folder?

Those are where your extra binaries are stored, things like busybox if you're rooted.
BTW, are you rooted?
Why are you wanting to blow away system directories??
It's a programmer's tool, used for looking at parts of an app.
Sorry, I don't know why it was put there if the device was never rooted before so I can't say.Can i delete it?
Can i delete it?
Thank you so much...is it dangerous for my tablet?????
Dangerous to remove /system/xbin? You need it to have Android up and running, so yes, it is. Are you still interested in rooting? You seem to be wondering about this one thing.
Really? system/xbin needed. I had believed that is a user created folder, because I have actually been trying to find mine in ES File Explorer, but it is not there. I have a Droid Maxx XT1080M...Rooted, on 4.4.4. Seriously, I dont know what to think now, but I have no such folder, (that I can find), because I am getting ready to install BusyBox. If anyone really know's how I can find it, and if it is required, please post it. Thanks.Dangerous to remove /system/xbin? You need it to have Android up and running, so yes, it is. Where have you found it? And what explorer did you use to find it? Please... I need help right now...Okay, sorry, never mind I found it.
I found it in ES File Explorer, you have to look for it there, start at Home or sd card, scroll to system, system/ xbin.Where have you found it? And what explorer did you use to find it? Please... I need help right now...
Ohhhh... Found it! Thanks!I found it in ES File Explorer, you have to look for it there, start at Home or sd card, scroll to system, system/ xbin.
I doubt this. I am pretty sure you can delete them. All necessary libraries, binaries, apps and other needed things are in /bin and /sbin. /xbin is not required to run Android.NO! Some of those files are necessary for the system to run audio apps. The jack ones, specifically.
My /xbin is reading as 355.50 Mb. Are there any universal binaries I can remove? I'm running a rooted, busybox installed , Android 4.4 optimus
