I think it is more because of the fact that the CEO of T-Mobile has basically declared war on data hogs who use workarounds to do obscene amounts of tethering. They harder they have to work at finding the people who cheat the system, the more it will affect everyone who uses their network.

I think you completely missed the point of my last post. My point is that the actions of a few are starting to affect the rest of us. For example, I use an app called advanced download manager to download all my files because it allows me download files directly to my SD card instead of having to download them then move them every time. Anyway, I used this app for several months without any issue but now all the data used by this app gets counted against my tethering data. All of my 6GB got used up then my downloads got throttled to 12.5kB/s This only started happening less than a week ago. This is why I say that the actions of a few are affecting the rest of us now. When you cheat the system to get free tethering, you aren't just sticking it to the man. Now you are screwing me too!

Jajajajja sorry bro... I got your .°. I think is a bit different... What they trying to do its to control not only the tether but the actual data per se, with all the updates they have been modifying the telephony.xmls ( tcp,dcm,mtu, etc.etc... ) by implementing the band12 they have been redirecting signalOTA to make Quantum lighter n sufficient... Y have work my phs.. TTLs, MTUs,DCM, to work on my behalf... When you power the ph off n on phone willl look for band12 but it soones with in 20-30 sec goes back to band4 getting yhe speed i want.
Band12 ( 0.58-6.50mb dl)
Band4 (28-64,78mb dl) depending on the time .
 
I did about 200MB of actual tethering this month. I would have called metro and complained but I only had 3 days to go until my next months billing cycle and another 6GB of free tethering.

And on which device?
 
My tether has been acting up. I get msg saying ive used allmy hotspot data. My tether is being slow. Im using it for xbox one. Im trying to download the new update for grand theft auto, and its stuck at 29%. Also my youtube n netfix app wont work. How can i fix this?

What user agent ya have been using n if you have done any system updates? ...
Im guessing wifi.tether have not been following support... Any way answer me im gonna che k what i can do.
 
Im on f6, stock rom. I havent done any updates to my phone that i know of. But as for the UA, im not using one. Never have. Everything worked fine until recently. The reason i dont use a UA is because i thought you can only use it on devices like tablets, computers, connected to the tether. But in my case im using Xbox One connected to my tether. You cant simply use a UA or VPN on the gaming console that i know of. Its just a Xbox, it doesnt have all the apps that a phone or computer can have. Is there something i can do on my phone (f6) that i am using to make the hotspot? Such as a UA, but i thought that stuff was just for devices connected to the tether, not for the phone running the tether.

Yes, yesterday. But my tether ran out of data before that, which it never used to. The wierd thing is i can download system updates from MS, but not for the games. When i update a game it gets to a certan percentage then stops. But i still have unlimited 4g lte on my phone, there should be a way to have my tether working properly right? What do you suggest i do?
 
So here's what I've found out. I'm running Xperion and I have flashed back to stock to make sure it wasn't the ROM. Using the method from the OP with useragent set to IE9, I get full speed on Youtube and Gmail but if I try and browse reddit or almost any other site, I get throttled back to 125k. Even when I try and tether the "right" way (I topped off an extra gig) I still get the same results. When I called Metro, they say I haven't used any of the data I topped off with.

It obviously has to do with T-Mobile/Metro trying to rein in data users, but it's weird that I can't use data the correct way.

Also, using the LTE discovery app, it shows I'm on Band 4 when I have LTE. I'm in a bit of a bad service area, so sometimes it drops down to HSPA+, but I'll still usually get 5-6Mb/s with HSPA+.

He has my settings in all his 3 F6s one on xperion(his son) wife on KKmini and him on Carbon all different settings ... And they all running fine if tmo or mpcs are throwing fish to catch games with ppl out there is something else.
Now his has lates chrome installed with the user agen i provided but use it either in Chrome on ubuntu or ie11 which he manage to get UAstings n uploaded to the switcher... Now he is on w7. His son its on w10 n ubuntu dualboot on w10 he just use iy as normal on the edgebrowser... N on chrome as default settings... On ubuntu he doesn't have issues @ all... So to be i dont knw what to say... Or help other then Use the user agent i provided make sure chrome its up-to-date. Or use wifi.tether.router... Why not pay 3$ with out going through this stress... Sorry guys.
 
And Im not taking threat down or closing it cus i have others members using the method with other devices n carriers and it has been helpful to them.
 
Oh, I wouldn't want you to take it down. I've gotten a year of tethering from your method, so I'm very happy with it!

I'm going to see what happens when my cycle resets next month. What do you mean by paying the $3 without going through the stress? Also, what is the wifi.tether.router?

Well that one its @ the playstore {wifi.tether.router} it more similar to this only you need to buy the app which i have. But the wifi tethering was free so i did yhe setting for all of ya....
Anyway im gonna try to find an easy way for the f6s on stock n xperion... Cus yhe ones on KK.mini or cm.carbon are not having that issue
 
From the reviews of that app, it looks like people are experience the same issues. I'm going to try and flash kk.mini or carbon and see if that works. Then I'll see what happens when my data gets reset and go from there.

Wait before you do that i got in touch with a friend follow this instructions ... They are the same in my settings... But he has a vid
 
For the Xperion ROM, I don't have a global folder in the settings database. I do show a tether_dun_required value in the secure database, though. I tried changing it to value "0" with the SQLlite editor, but upon restart it reverts back to "1".

I'm gonna flash back to stock and see if I can change it on the stock side.

No do not restart... Just make the change n it will be fine... Thats how i have it in my instructions i just post the vid so u can see what is all about
 
Now this its something that yall would hat to do everytime you reboot.. ""Change that value""" let me see how chan i get a workaround.! Just test tats n get back to me
 
Ah, that's for KK. I'm on Xperion, though. I don't have that Global database. Here's a screenshot of what my settings.db looks like:

Thats fine if you found the tether dun whatever... Just change the value and run the tethering... In my OP.. Instructions its a set up for that...
