Won't happen anytime soon. Maybe not even in my lifetime. Only reason Sprint has a tower is because they were around before Verizon and ATT became what they are now. T-Mobile was last to the party, so they are the least likely to increase signal strength. Verizon would be my only option, for home signal strength, but too expensive and too limiting.

Hahaha...actually, it's something I've thought of...just creating my own tower. That would probably happen and would actually get resources for DIY, prior to the city finally being able to convince my association, to allow for building more towers. There isn't really a lack of area to build, just would take up so many resources to get the majority to approve and actually build up....1st world problems, really. In a way, it's almost a nice break to have such spotty phone coverage, so it's an excuse to break away from instant contact (w/ exception to those that hit me up through social media and email).

Even if T-mobile had a glimmer of coverage (even roaming), I'd have switched already. But for both T-Mobile and ATT, it's absolutely no coverage at all. It's the one time that I actually am happier being on a CDMA provider over GSM.
 
Okay, someone on the crackberry forums looked at the FCC files and saw that one of them could be a Sprint version (based on the radios) of the PRIV:

I'm holding out hope that it's true. As long as I can buy it full price at Best Buy, I'll still pick one up. After seeing that V10 deal, I kinda wish there was a Sprint version being released, as I would've jumped on that for sure (w/ the 200gb microSD). Nonetheless, I'll be happy with the Priv for a few months, until the 2016 rumors start leaking out.
 
My contract is up in 6 weeks. Went to have a look last night.
Not a single phone out there that I'm happy with. Coming up from a Note 3.
The Note 5 is very disappointing and they could only get me a 32gig version. That's just not enough.
Really don't know what to get.
My son has been waiting a long time for the Hand Me Down or I'd wait longer.

Letv LeMax X900 128 GB Version! Not cheap but definitely cheaper than Note 5 32 GB! You won't get service/support plus you get tons of Chineese apps (You can apply TWRP to remove these)
 
Since Huawei managed to make the Nexus 6P and also make it so that it will work on any of the 4 major US carriers, I really, really hope they do the same with the Ascend Mate8

Just for comparisons sake, I took a look at the dimensions of the Nexus 6P and the Ascend Mate7...They are so close in size, except the Ascend Mate7 is a 6 inch screen! If they made the Ascend Mate8 w/ all the radios internally compatible with all 4 carriers, like the Nexus 6P, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase. Of course, I say that with the caveat that it'd have to have a microSD slot. Non-removable battery, I can get over as long as there's quick charging capabilities.

Yeah, I have read conflicting info, as similar to all rumors, but hopefully they didn't ditch it, considering the mate7 had one. I think I mentioned to you last year that, if I were in gsm provider, I would seriously consider that phone. It would be a #winner for Huawei, if they made a 6 inch phone, very close on dimensions to the Nexus 6p, but offering a little more in the specs department.

Kinda similar to what LG did with the Nexus 4 and lg g2. They were able to offer a micro sd (on some g2's), so hopefully Huawei execs see the opportunity they could have in the US market now. The Mate8 with a massive battery, form factor similar to the moto x style and nexus 6p...but bigger screen and micro sd like Motorola? That would be amazing and I would scrap my need for a phone similar in size to the Note 3, to get a 6 inch phone that compares to other 5.7's in the market.

The V10 is at the max for width for my comfort level.
One wouldn't think 1/10 of a inch would make much difference (vs the Note5),but,having both the Note5 & V10 on hand to compare,you'd be surprised.
While Samsung nailed it w/the ergonomics & curves for the grip,all you bezel hater gonna hate this,but,for my use,the Note5 actually needs a narrower screen or,more bezel on the sides (or,a software fix to make the edges a bit less sensitive to touch as an option,if possible).
A lot of accidental screen responses,which grew tiresome after a while,YMMV.

The V10,I'm not getting that at all,perhaps the extra 1/10" width is working for me.
Just wanted to throw that out there,mainly to try out a phone (if possible) before ordering.

The more images and vids I see of the v10, the more I wish it had been offered for Sprint. Especially because of 64 internal w/ micro sd.

It's a nice phone.
Good feel-in-hand,smooth/fast & responsive,good battery life so far,on day 3 & still doing well.
The screen doesn't measure up to the NOTE3/4/5,but,it's OK.
Speaker is a bit weak,serviceable for notifications,speakerphone calls,YMMV.
I don't listen to music over the speaker,even on phones I had w/dual FF ones.
For those where this is near the top on their list,will want to look elsewhere.
What's odd is the G4's speaker is sufficiently loud & clear enough,noticably more so than the V10's.
Perhaps a software fix can tweak it a little...............

I will likely be picking this up, just to test out t-mobile alone. Oddly, I read up on what it doesn't have and it looks like it doesn't have wi-fi direct, which isn't really a deal breaker for me, but a dual-boot android/windows 10 smartphone for $299 with those specs? Um, yes please!
 
I have to say I'm glad the Note 5 didn't come out in Europe. I like many others really wanted at least an SD card, but I have to say, I was going to buy it before knowing we weren't getting it in Europe. And when it didn't come out I did flirt with the idea of buying from abroad. My brother works in Saudi and they've got it there for £420. So I was going to ask him to bring it when he comes in the winter holiday.

However the need to buy it was wearing off and I was looking at other possibilities such as nexus 6p. Then I watched a video of Max Lee on YouTube and saw how to port a note 5 on to a note 3. And I did it. And it works. Amazingly. I've got every software feature the Note 5 has including screen write, the long screen shot thingy. Furthermore I've got all the Note 6s edge plus software features including the people and app edge feature.

So all I don't have is the finger print scanner and the Samsung pay... but what I do have is a replaceable battery and a micro SD card. What a win.

Well I still want to get a new phone so in that regard I'm super tempted by the Blackberry Priv.

I'm paying very close attention to the Huawei Mate 8. Whichever variant also has microSD support, will likely be the device I purchase and give T-Mobile a test run:

If all 3 have microSD support, and the 6 or 6.2 inch are very close in physical dimensions (if not smaller) to the Mate 7, I'll likely be getting either of those. Huawei seems to be making good progress on getting their devices more attention in the US.

You may wanna visit an AT&T/T-Mobile store,try out the bottom-mounted speaker(s) on the v10/Note5 & see if that'll work for you.
TBH,it's the last place I want speakers,including my current daily driver,the V-10.
I'd rather have a rear-mounted speaker,for my use,the lesser of two evils.

?...LOL...Where do you think the speaker is on the Note 3? I actually don't mind it at all. At the right angles, it actually is really loud. I've never been a complainer of speaker placement. Or, I should say, it's not a pet peeve of mine. The only phone I've had that I hated the speaker on was the original HTC Evo, which was my first venture into Android. Having come from Windows Mobile with the HTC Mogul and HTC Touch Pro, the EVO was a step back from those phones for speaker level, but as long as the earpiece was loud enough, I was good. I'm more of a bluetooth headphones person, over actual phone speakers. I rarely, if ever, need "booming" speakers on my actual phone. I'd even connect to an external bluetooth speaker, before having a need for really loud speakers on the phone.
