Root Trying to Get to B33

Hey,

I decided to try and get all the necessary system files to link the new roms to the new b33 modem, but i have ran into an issue someone might have solved.

I honestly dont remember what all i did to my phone before going to cooked roms.

So now i am completely trying to go back to stock so it can push the b33 update and this is where the issue is.

With the 4.4.4 modem/bootloader i seem to only get an error of the sbl1 partition not passing the update check.
Then with the 4.4.2 modem/bootloader it fails at the aboot partition update check.

I have found the b22 modem, but now i need the rest of the partitions.....
Anyone have a full stock backup with all partitions for b33 i can use?

I already have a twrp-flashable b33 update/stock rom put together just be patient.

Hey Masterchief.
I have b22 with b33 update knocking at the door.
Should i update OTA? Or wait for the "twrp-flashable b33" you quote above?

Does b33 have a nastily locked bootloader, as you hypothesided before?

That info came from someone who supposedly had the b33 update but got their phone bricked after installing twrp & SuperSU. We now know that the person who I heard this from either was lying or just had no idea what they were talking about. Ive heard from a few people who have rooted the b33 update and installed twrp & BrokenOS 5.1.1 without any issues.

Thank you for clarification, Masterchief!
So, basically bootloader in b33 is not changed wrt b22? And still locks /system to read-only? I do not suppose they removed this write-protection? Or maybe? Could someone check? :)

Apart from that b33 adds voLTE, band 12, and fixes stagefright?

Cool I appreciate it. If not just a copy of aboot.IMG would suffice.

I think the rest of the partitions I have are good since boot.IMG comes with the full stock zip of b22

Boot loader is still the same, the only thing that has changed is which versions of the modem can be loaded during boot up (aka update).

And yes the rest have been added.

The only reason b33 doesn't work correctly with cm or brokenos is because the system files being used on brokenos were made using the b22 source/files.

Since we do not have direct access to zte android files we would just need to get the modified files that the b33 modem uses and create a zip to be flashed for those b33 users to be able to call and text and use data.

Thank you.

Sorry for dumb questikn, but is it possible to flash the bootloader from twrp?

Or bootloader is like ROM?

i have a question i went back to stock 4.4.4. updated my phone is still says b06 ans i dont have twrp installed

Here is the twrp flashable T-Mobile B33 update/stock ROM I made. I just finally tested and uploaded it. After you flash this, your phone will be in the same condition it would have been if you flashed back to stock, updated to b33, and temp-rooted then reinstalled twrp.

Just wipe data, cache, dalvik, & system and flash it.

If you want to keep root then flash the SuperSU zip also.

You posted that 3 hours after I flashed back to stock (ROM and recovery), took the OTA, and rerooted. D'oh! Oh well--everything works. Question: Will the old stock T-Mobile switcher and restore zips work with this or do we need new zips?
