2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

Idk what the 3d gallery on the 2.1 will be like but I dl an app called 3ddroid and that has all my photos in 3d so Idk if thatsthe same but with the glasses, all my pics look pretty cool
 
Its my understanding that it checks for updates for your phone, as in updates for apps. I of course could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.
 
What is the 3G bug I saw someone post about? I'm on leak v2 and I get full bars 3G most places with my signal strength at about -55db. So maybe your network sucks. Fiance is on 1.5 and gets same signal.

Go to your dialer and type on *#*#checking#*#* (well, tje coreesponding numbers) and sonorous hit call. After a few moments it will say "check in success" I'm your notification area. Make sure you have 3f or WiFi on when you do it.

I believe this bug reared its ugly head in v3.
 
maybe the "checkin" does check the servers for the OTA... but if VZW hasn't yet added your phone to the rollout, it won't see it? just a thought

I'm looking at mine right now... 3 bars... -54 dBm
so it's not the network, it's a software bug

i'm gonna monitor my bars and dBm for the next 20 mins and post the results
 
joeshamburger @VZWSupport i got leak 2.1 v3 with same
numbers as the ota ..... does this mean i wont be able to get the polished ota version ??? <-- my question to official support and their response ................

Here's an interesting tweet... again take it for what its worth with VZW Support:

That was in response to his question, which was that he had leak v3 with same build numbers as OTA. I interpret that as those of us with 2.1v3 will have to download the upgrade.

I'm guessing that the link VZWSupport posted earlier will eventually have an option to download the official upgrade.
