Root Just throwing this out there: Cm13 for g2 mini sources

Spock, try enabling the ov8858 or ov8588 config in defconfig. (Can't remember off the top of my head the exact name but I'm close.) I've been meaning to upload a test build with that enabled to see what happens for the green tint folks. Just haven't had time yet. That was my theory, it's a sensor for the camera that isn't enabled in our cm defconfig yet but was used for another msm8226 variant, I think the jagnm.

ov8858 is just another camera, it should not be enabled. According to the dtb we use the imx111, imx119, and imx219. imx119 is the 1.3mp front camera, imx111 and imx219 are the luck of the draw 8mp rear cameras.

We also have libraries for the imx179 but no supporting kernel code. Someone in the CM12.1 thread pointed out that the 179 libraries might be used by the 111.

You sure it's a camera? The product page is confusing as hell for it, says it's a sensor and then lists all sorts of camera specs. Makes it sound like an addon sensor to a camera which is why i had the thought about it. That was my hunch anyway, I've been lost on the whole green camera thing since we started having the problem.

That page makes me very sure. 8 megapixel CMOS. "image sensor" is another way to say camera.

Kinda glad we don't have that, the IMX219 specs are much better :-P

Hey you guys, I'm enjoying the rom on my little volt and it's actually nothing but awesome. The only one problem is video camera. With my version, it doesn't work though I believe whoshotjr2006 has fixed it. I can't compile the rom since windows is ruining on my laptop and I can install neither virtualbox nor Ubuntu itself. So if someone have compiled latest one and doesn't mind uploading it to somewhere so that I can download it, I would appreciate it.

Thank you[emoji5]

The latest is here: http://androidforums.com/threads/cyanogenmod-13-beta-1.1023879/

I'd be happy to help you get your development environment set up, we always need more people looking at the source code. What issue are you having with VirtualBox?

Is this the latest? I flashed this build (4/25) and the camera doesn't record at all...

I don't think my laptop has enough space for that. You know, pictures eat it...
I'm thinking to buy some external storage but till then, I doesn't happen.

Hate to say this but even if I could, I'm not a developer so I wouldn't be able to help you. I wanna learn it though.

Make sure that was a clean install. My phone is recording videos with that build.

Anyone at any skill level can help, even through review of what's out there or finding small tweaks while learning. But yes, it requires at least 50GB of hard disk.

Getting LTE signals but cannot connect on R+. "Cellular Network state : connecting" , then finally disconnected. Have cleaerd cache, airplane enabling/disabling, reflashed several times, still no go. Also noticed when you go into settings of "Cellular Networks" and select "carrier settings" , you get the "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped".
Flashed with APN fix and it shows the right carrier(R+) but does not connect.

The other issue is Here maps , it runs very slow and screen goes dark for a few seconds between selections and then you get message "Here Maps is not responding. Do you want to close it? with option to select WAIT or OK".

Am on the latest build

I got you. I'll do what I can.

I clean flashed, but it's still not working... But I found out it doesn't record videos in "camera apps" like built in camera app but in other, chat apps like snapchat. Does this stem from the rom?

That could certainly be a ROM issue. If you upload a logcat we'll have a look.

I'd recommend at least 150GB so as to use ccache

ccache can have a limit set on it, and even still if you're only developing one ROM for one phone there's no way it's going to use up that much space. I didn't use it until I started the CM13 stuff for this phone, and it used 8GB. For just getting started, 50GB is sufficient. If you start doing multiple ROMs and multiple devices then yeah, 50gb won't cut it. I'm up to 350GB on my VM, and I started off at 20GB...

I didn't even know what logcat is so I did some research but still I don't know what to do. I installed catlog and can see too many logs to determine which is for that.

Don't worry about the filtering, just get the app to save off the entire log after you've had a camera issue. We can try to sort it out.

Okay. Here you go.

I think that got it, thanks!

This appears to be where the fun stops:

I haven't had any problems with MMS, with stock messenger or textra, textra is my default. The only time I have trouble with data, LTE or 3G, is switching from wifi to cell data, sometimes. Then I just flip back and fourth from airplane mode.

I've never had a issue with 3G or switching from Wi-Fi to 3G, always worked, 4G refuses to work still but its a small price to pay!

Nope, no issues with data. If I do lose LTE, I just toggle airplane mode on/off.
I still am having issues with the SD card (external) being recognized as a USB drive. I have reflashed every conceivable way, resulting in no change in storage. Any clues??

Does only total commander do that or all file managers. Since I'm using es file explorer pro and it works fine.

No its the same regardless of file manager. Its not a overly critical issue, but does present problems when changing download location with non-specific apps. More of a PIA, but still an issue.
