Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Well I'll be dipped in molasses. Went out to my car at lunch (waiting for Safelite to get here between noon and 5) and discover that my little 2 to 3 inch crack is now easily 18 - 24 inches ... (lucky me, 48 degrees this morning and about 65 and sunny now - where's all the darn cool rainy days when I need em right?) so NOW it will 90% be a new windshield (anything over 6 inches usually is) that even with the discount through State Farm my total would be $309.00 ... GRRRR

Sigh :(
You can't win for losing. *smh*

Why do people use mobile phones while driving? It's dangerous, don't do it!

because they are assholes, pure and simple, they are the only one in the world who is important.
My phone rings, I hand it over to the wife.

I have been run off the road twice on my motorcycle, from head on traffic that had their head in their ass literally, had to have been, all I could see was the top of their noggin as they passed by me....
I installed special Hi-Res video cameras with GPS location embedded in the video.

I am taking them all to court.

Do it. This will teach the assholes a lesson. I have a dash cam, and got some video footage of an idiot I was following home yesterday. Trundling along at under half the speed limit, on a busy road, they were weaving around, and nearly stacked the car into the side of the road. I knew immediately the driver was on the phone.
Even worse was, not only did she have no regard for her safety, that of other road users, she even had a toddler in the back of the car. Unbelievable!

Okay...so there is being a Jerk on the road, and then there is being a Super Special Jerk...

Yesterday I actually saw a car make a Left Hand turn Right In Front of a Fire Truck and Ambulance with full sirens and flashing lights.

OMG! [emoji33] [emoji79] [emoji47]

what's wrong with people, if you hear the Fire truck or Ambulance ( which isn't hard ) move out the Fricken way..... Two cars out here got hit by Fire Rescue trucks just this week

Sadly I see that almost daily from my office in the center of a small town. :(

Honestly, this is the only explanation that I can find for the rudeness and stupidity of drivers today...

You forgot the old fa*ts and garage sales. We almost hit 2 of them today.

50MPH speed limit - all of a sudden they slow d0wn to 10MPH as they saw a garage sale sign. Slowing down isn't the answer to not hitting them - they will change lanes or cross the 4 lane road with no signal and no looking to find the sale. They will also sit stopped in a traffic lane while they decide whether or not a sale is worth it. Pulling over to the shoulder of the road is not an option for them. They consider that OK as they are not on a cell phone or texting.

I'm seeing more and more people sitting on the sides of the roads while tending to business on a phone. Some are getting the message.

Right here in River City USA: Tulsa, OK

and ambo stopped, EMTs trying to get PT into the ambo, cellphone talker drives straight into the ambo, killing both EMTs and the PT.

Never mind that there are Flashing Blue and Red lights all over the place, let's just zero in on the lights and go thru them.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

If anyone is interested, this is my video camera. has the best Hi-Res specs on the market 'as of today'.

I have the GPS option installed.

Here is a short clip, note it shows MPH, the GPS does not display, but with the special video player, it puts up a split screen, the video on the left, and a moving map on the right.

The video is fuzzier that it should be, the windshield on my Honda GL1800 is yellowing, I ordered a new one this week.

Suddenly, both headlamps on my minivan are dead.

Simultaneously, I have low tire pressure in three of the tires... Good thing there is a second vehicle available to drive to work.

I'm worrying if the body module is going TU... Damn thing has been a pain for quite a while: the mirrors like to readjust themselves at random intervals.

Likely, it's either the body module having further fits or both lamps decided to kick it at the same time.

I had low pressure on one tire yesterday, and was leaving the house early enough to hit the gas station and air it up, so it's just as well I had time to figure out the headlight problem and switch my stuff over to the other vehicle.

Well, both headlamps burned out at the same time. I suspect planned obsolescence: the "cheap" lamps are $30...the ones I replaced cost twice as much.
