I really can't imagine a scenario where it makes sense to spend real money on play money, but I'm just a young senior citizen.

After being exiled, I've just started a new account with a new player name. I've turned their starting thousand into twenty thousand. That's a win, and the only goal of playing poker, especially for play money, so what do I car whether it's millions or thousands?

Funny what people will pay for isn't it? Similar situation in online role playing games, where the objective is to accumulate fake currency, or some kind of resource to allow the player to progress. There will always be a market for people wanting to buy the resources as a shortcut, instead of playing through the game.
Utterly pointless IMO, but each to their own I suppose.

The end of football starts here:

Pop Warner Is Facing a Class-Action Lawsuit Over Concussions

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Pop Warner, the nation’s largest youth football league, claiming that the organization knowingly put players in danger by ignoring the risks of head trauma. The suit is the biggest sign yet that youth football programs are the next front in the legal battle over concussions.
...rather than encouraging physical activities like football, parents will increasingly discourage, even prevent their children from risking injury. As result, high school, then NFL teams will have fewer and fewer players available. Football will slowly lose its popularity and disappear within thirty years... I'll bet you five dollars.

Nah, they'll just redesign the football helmet.

If football goes away, so be it. Yes, it's an entertaining sport, but if I had a young son I certainly wouldn't encourage him to play it, knowing what we know now.
I don't think it will go away, though. There is just too much money involved. Sadly money trumps safety in this society. Little kids are doing MMA now...

Mixed Martial Arts...is that supposed to be safer for children than football? And I thought they were all playing soccer these days in the US?

Has anyone actually walked into a storm and back out again?

I remember as a young child looking out my Grandma's window across the vacant lots and seeing a straight up downpour going on about 300 yards away over the Projects. It was bright, sunny and dry where I was. You'd think that would be a subject on YouTube. I Haven't seen such a well develop and isolated storm since then.

I've seen it bright and sunny in the front yard but a hail storm in the back. Storms have to start and stop somewhere, why not over your house?!
I think it's the Gods saying something like "watch it. I can make your front yard look just like your back yard if you aren't careful!"

We get that all the time. Summer afternoon storms blow through here almost exclusively from the west/northwest and often have squall lines associated with them. I can sit on my front porch and watch this wall of rain sweep over the neighborhood and then as it clears out to the east we get a rainbow.

While it's cool to watch, it's pretty common and considered unremarkable here, sadly.

"I" before "E" except after "C" and it can be pronounced as a long or short "I" or "E" ... and when you throw a silent "G" in there with a southern (U.S.) accent it's pronounced "fer-un".

What's the Chinese character for WTF? ;)

I'm surprised you haven't fixed that in your version of our language :p

It used to be a regular thing in Florida. As someone previously mentioned, squall lines do this, and we would also see so-called sun showers drift through every once in a while. I recall sitting at a traffic light once, where the pavement was dry and I was about to drive right into a line of rain on the other side of the intersection.

Then there are the occasional deluges... something my friends out here in the land of fruits and nuts have never experienced. The water comes down so heavy that windshield wipers do nothing. Visibility is literally zero, and the best you can do is pull over to what you believe is the side of the road and wait for the rain to let up.

... because, just like to idiots who plow through the Tule fog out here, there is bound to be an idiot who relies of blind luck to get them through the worst of it, and since it worked last time, it will this time...
