2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

You dont lose texts, and I think I just went and synced my stuff right away. Not sure if it would have been automatic. But it sure is easy to get right back either way.

the ORA is different than the v1 v2 v3 leaks trust me. WHY? They added a few different things like friend steam gallery and a few tweaks. ALL LEAK users WILL get the update in some time or the other. Either through your phone or manually updating (as we know the current manual update does not work for leaks) but will eventually be modified to work for leaks...I am 100% sure of this because of the mast majority of leak users. :D Thanks hope this helps so confusion.

You are wrong. Friendstream and gallery are not in either the 2.1v3 or 2.1OTA. I have access to both and they are identical.

^Refering to how I feel about no OTA yet.....still waiting....just to be sure nobody gets offended....this picture is refering to ME.
 
I have read all 42 pages - so forgive me if this has been answered, I rooted to 2.1 per http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-eris/53963-guide-stock-1-5-latest-root-2-1-a.html. When people talk about leaked .v1, v2 and v3 - do they mean the non-rooted?

So, will I be able to get the update - OTA or manually. Do I need to go back to 1.5?

I don't care about root at all, I installed it to get google map voice navigation. So, I'm looking for the simplest path back to stock.

Got the OTA this morning at 2:47 now it's installing. Glad I waited. But the phone has been great to begin with has had no issues.
 
Not sure if this means anything, but I'm in Lincoln, NE and my wife and I both has Eris's. She is on 1.5 and received her update this morning (5.15.10) at about 8:30 a.m. I am on 2.1 v3 and have not received it yet. Of course, if the updates are purely random it doesn't make a difference one way or another. Just thought I'd pass it along. Once her update is done I will post a detailed comparision, assuming no one has beat me to it.

From lincoln also,as well have the V3 leak and havent seen a update yet.
