Random Thought Thread

I'm considering a job in Billings, Montana... on the one hand, it pays more than what I am making right now, or at least the same without massive amounts of overtime.

On the other hand, it's even more remote than the irrigated desert I live in now.

But you what? I bet it's green in the summer! And it's not too far from Yellowstone National Park.

Struggling to see a downside ;)

So, we're watching Fury Road ("It's FuriOHsa, not FurioSAH" my daughter says, nerd family FTW), and one of the bosses gets blinded during the firefight. Guy totally can't see anything and yet he's managing to put machine-gun fire nearly on target.

Kinda reminded me of an old joke comparing Stevie Wonder with Imperial Stormtroopers...

Maybe as it's of Irish origin, it will be more commonly used in Ireland. I never met anyone in the UK with that name.

From the Wiki I gathered it was Irish. It's usual for language students to give themselves an English language name, which are also used when conducting international business. It's just in Jinan, Shandong Province, I know five Devins, :D Devin Zhang, Devin Ping, Devin Zhou, Devin Li, and Devin Tan. Non of them know each other, and this is over a period of 7 years.

BTW on the list of famous Devins in the Wiki, four of them are NFL players, and three are NBA. And I never met a single Devin until coming to Jinan.
