Idk about this 3 EVO's a piece business. I mean maybe but why even do a pre-order event if your only gonna give 3 out at each store. I guess they dont wanna make more money?? I mean in reality if every BB and RS got 3 each that would be an assload of phones but still seems skimp when you look at it on a one store basis. All I know is if I bothered to pre-order and they dont have my EVO when I go in for my appointment, I'm gonna be heated lol.

Is it possible for Sprint to contact all the stores that will be ordering them by a certain date and say "Hey how many pre-orders do you have so far?". And then ship what they have and maybe a few extra for good measure?

I think I know the answer to this but im going to ask to just to be sure
Does the HTC EVO use the same usb cord we've been using on the Touch Pro 2's or is the usb cable different in any way??? I wanted to know b/c I have this official HTC charging dock that I bought a while back that I've been using for my Touch Pro 2

this is what It looks like btw HTC Desktop Cradle for AT&T Fuze / HTC Touch Pro, Touch Diamond - HTC Charging Docks - HTC Accessories Depot

I hope its the reg usb we've been using so I can buy the correct dock insert clip an continue using it for my htc evo!

The Touch Pro and Touch Diamond had mini-usb connectors. Not sure about the Touch Pro 2. I think people have said it is Micro, but not positive.

In the real world, no. It would be impossible. You would have to turn it on and test it by the fcc. But since the network will not be ready until late 2011, you would install a battery sucking piece of junk radio, that may or may not pass the fcc, only to get the next iphone to get a real lte radio. Even though 3g radios have been good for years, apple refused to released the first one with 3g. They are very cautious about unproven technology. They will not release a lte radio until it is tested and proven. They might do it, but it would be smarter for apple to call it iphone 4g and let the people get confused. Att are going to pimp the iphone 4g as 7.5mbps. They do not need much more then that to sell the phone.

Right. The pimping 4 g is what I meant. Maybe it is as you say just 3.5. FCC hasn't been released correct?

I truly believe the iPhone has a bad radio chip right now and it's not so much AT&T.

I was told by BB that they would recieve all the pre-ordered phones and around 3 extra, maybe that is what is being said?

Hope so... I have to think thats correct because there would be alot of pissed off individuals in their local best buy and radio shack come june 4th.

I think it was just that some people said there would be no rings in the final released model... and yet here they are.

And some were complaining they didn't want it there. Probably didn't like the look of it or something, but I think it stands out rather than having a simple little icon to itself.

Agreed I don't sweat either of those things too much. I like the rings actually, just plain buttons might have been too "instinct like" :p And if Rebella is right then it looks like you'll only be getting 3 out of 4 of those homie ;)

I highly doubt that theres going to be three EVOs in each store. That is just ridiculous. If that's the case, whats the point of pre-orders then???

Well this is for my KANSAS CITY people!!!

I went to Sprint Store in Overland Park and they advise me that the 4G towers are up now and that they are currently testing them by flicking them on and off -- the rep said that they should be ready to go by June 1st!!

That makes paying the extra $10 worth worth it........wait.....I got mine waived for 24 months!!

Does a little happy dance inside !!!:D

how many evos do you think each sprint store will get? i think im going to try to get one at a sprint store and see if they can waive the activation fee (they waived it when my wife signed up with sprint a few months ago).

Remember the Pre only had a limited number on launch day. the BB I Went to had 4.
But I'm assuming they'll be some inventory on hand. the Friday launch is to unusual for Sprint. I think they want to make news with a huge sales number which would be harder to do with a Sat or Sun launch.
If they have the inventory could it be possible to out sell the Incredible and give them something to brag about?
Maybe they'll have a big media blitz the week before, they already have product placements going.
I just hope the ads don't embarrass me like the Pre ads did. 1st the scary hot girl then the Moms, ugh..

PRE was different though...it was noted before release that there was a limited amount for launch since Palm was trying to rush the phone out. Palm was dying at the time, but needed to get the phone out asap, didnt have time for full production.

HTC is a far richer company...I am sure they produced a good amount of EVO's for launch.

That will be interesting to see... Since they aren't doing pre-orders as of yet it will also be interesting to see what kind of lines you will run into on launch day. The activation fee is the one thing I hate about going the best buy route. They can't waive it for you. The only good part is that it gets added to your monthly bill instead of having to pay it right then and there. I agree with the "there will be more Evos than Pres" statement. Not only are they a richer company but frankly its just a bigger deal all around for Sprint, HTC, and for the industry. I think they took a look at the response the HD2 and Incredible got as well and took that into account when deciding the number of units to manufacture out of the gates.

Yea it would make no sense to launch the phone that as being billed as "Next Generation" and not have an ample amount.

I mean, maybe in non 4G Markets and smaller areas, I could see there being a lesser amount...but in your 4G markets and large cities, I expect there to be atleast a good number.

Lets remember, this is also Googles/Androids best phone to date...so its not just HTC and Sprint that are backing it.
