Yeah, I would be pissed if I pre-ordered my phone from best buy and they didn't have it for me on launch day. I asked the manager when I pre-ordered if that guaranteed me a phone and he said yes. I know I was number 6 so I will be HOT if I don't get one. He said they were expecting over 25 a store though when I talked to him on thursday.

The touch pro 2 utilizes the mini USB... The evo is a micro USB.. Looks like you s.o.l on recycling that dock.. But look on the bright side that new dock coming out for the evo will look better and have more features...
Quick question to everyone.. Any ideas if well be able to purchase the car dock and also hdmi dock from any other stores besides sprint eg: best buy or "the shack"??

Someone may have answered you already but it's my 1st time using it too. I was told they can bill your account or they will call you closer to ship date for a credit card. I usually do Telesales and they weren't even doing preorders yet. I found about EVP here on the forums..

So no screen protector? My Touch Pro 2 had one and I read the EVO might come with some silicone case but I guess not. Guess I better have a case and protector ahead of time..
I mentioned this somewhere but on Amzer.com they have cases and some will be out 6/7 and some say 6/21. But some cover more around the top of the phone and they cover up the front battery at the top. I wonder why? But I like how they have a cut out for the kick stand. And then the lady at HTC said go to Day Deal and they had nothing yet. I called Day Deal inquiring about the evo accessories and was told just buy the HD2 cases they will work. Well they had some really cute ones but I want the cut out for the kickstand.

This is the same sentiment/impression that everyone who pre-ordered was given. Quite honestly, I wouldn't have pre-ordered if I wasn't guaranteed a phone on launch day.
And if they do get limited stock, I will be negotiating for a better deal or extra discounts without a doubt.

If anybody is still looking for a micro sd card. I found this Transcend 16GB MicroSD Memory Card w/ SD Adapter, TS16GUSDHC2 after a little research last week. I didn't post the link then because it seemed too good to be true, but I ordered and got it yesterday and the card seems to work fine, it is class 2, but for 34.99 with free shipping I'll take it.

The 3 EVO number is definitely EVO's in addition to the pre-orders. I have three reasons to believe so:
-My sister and I went to pre-order the EVO at Best Buy today. We were number 13 and 14 to pre-order. The woman we spoke to seemed knowledgeable for a Best Buy employee, and when I asked to see the list, she said that they weren't making a list but were basing the amount of EVO's they were getting in store by the pre-orders made by June 3rd. So if 30 people ordered, they would get 33 Evo's. This makes sense.
-3 Evo's doesn't seem like a lot here, but it's true that most people that know about the Evo are those that will pre-order it, those who don't know about it, it's not like there will be boat loads of people who see it for the first time on June 4th will straight up buy it.
-They take your name and number down, the woman said Best Buy will call us when they're in on June 4th (My sister and I are just going to be there a little while before it opens). Which is another reason why people have said that the Best Buy's have guaranteed them their Evo on June 4th...they make orders according to the number of pre-orders. The RS associate in another thread said that:
"Oh and the phone box will come with your name on it on some sort of tag to identify that the phone is held for whom.
The phone will be held in store on June 4 and 5. You can pick it up on these days, failing which the phone can be sold to anybody else who wants it."
So I'm sure the 3 Evo's number is in addition to pre-orders. We're in Baltimore and the Best Buy in Owings Mills, MD.

I think we'll see a large number of EVO 4G ads during the week before the release date. I think that's when Sprint will get the most "Bang for their advertising buck".
Also, I think Sprint will use the "pre-orders" to help guage how many phones to send to which markets. For example: Rather than send 40 EVO's to each Sprint store, they will send say 60 to the stores in which there were lots of pre-orders and say 20 EVO's the the stores in areas that had light pre-ordering.

This is the question I wonder about the most. With a bad taste still in my mouth about how the Hero was (not) handled I don't want this to happen with the EVO. I know the EVO comes with a very up to date and advanced version of Android, but how long does it take for that up to date and advanced O/S to be behind he times?
Oh and for those that might say "...but you don't have any guarantee's and shouldn't expect the phone to be updated..." I say that's crap. The entire point of Android is that it is "open" and up-datable.

Palm was a far weaker company and couldn't afford to produce as many units at launch. But HTC, while being more successful, still isn't that "rich" a company. Then again I'm sure they have and will continue to be able to get investment money and loans at need.
