Ok thanks, Is it hard to do? Guess I'll wait till I get the phone and see what all I want to do but for now I'll just put apps on it and leave it be I guess. I need to get familiarized with the phone and Android and set up my email and stuff and do my bookmarks before I started getting into other stuff. I have a yahoo email am I going to be able to put it on this phone? My co worker just got the Moment and I tried to help him add his yahoo and we couldn't get it to work. I googled how and pritned it out for him. He still has 1.5 and hasn't updated to 2.1 yet he just got the phone. But i know if it doesn't work under IMAP it said forward it to your pop3. BI just spoke to HTC asking about accessories for this phone and told her I want the car dock. Someone posted an HD2 one but they told me it wouldn't work to wait and get one specifically for this phone.

To make most changes you must root, you
don't have to flash a new rom but u must root the device

The Unlockr (google it) usually has good instructions, I've used their G1 instructions and Hero instructions and everything is normally straight forward. Not sure how quick they update after a release though...

Thanks for the link

I would suggest to anyone that does check this out, do not follow the advice of those in that thread. They are actively adivising people to commit fraud. I understand the lure of 25% off, but is that really enough incentive to compromise your ethics?

Many of the discounts in there are extended to friends and family as opposed to just employees.

Sorry I didn't get back to those questions from yesterday. This site is really wonky occasionally and I just about gave up last night when I couldn't load it for hours.

Jeph, please tell me you looked into the internal memory?
Yes. It has a 1GB ROM.

So what's your overall opinion about the phone, anymore pros or cons?
Overall opinion hasn't changed; still pretty impressive on almost every level. The kickstand does have a minor spring to it, which I liked. Typing on the phone is a delight, I was really impressed with how easy it felt and how quick I picked it up. Sure, I like the physical keyboard on my Pre, but the virtual QWERTY on the Evo looks very promising. In landscape mode it's HUGE.

I'll have more hands-on later this week.

I completely understand what you are saying about ethics, but Sprint doesn't seem to care all that much. I specifically told them that I do not work for a certain company anymore and they were like, well we'll let you keep the discount. They did the same thing for my brother-in-law as well. So it seems as though they aren't that stringent about it.

So no additional internal storage like the incredible? (aside from the 1GB ROM).

It would appear not. Bummer, I know. But, the expandable storage is really the selling point here. I'm not sure, but can you install apps on microSD cards? If not, only a gig of memory may not cut it a year from now.

drex, I've seen like 90% of your posts in the last few days hell bent on the internal storage. It has 1GB of ROM and comes with an 8GB microSD card. That's It.

Plan accordingly. Only one person ever wanted to say that it would have more than that - sorry you drank his kool aid but really its time to move forward lol.

Well, my want for that extra internal storage was personally for business purposes for what I do. Not really having anything to do with anything else. And in comparing the Incredible's stats that has 8gb internal storage + the microSD slot, that's a lot more (especially if the Incredible can support the 32GB microSD).

And why are you following me?...LOL...I was just trying to get clarification on something that's NEVER been officially reported (and still hasn't). The Incredible has 512MB ROM (I think newest stats said 700+) / 512MB RAM and whenever they talk about the EVO, it's always referring to the ROM without ANY mention of the Internal Storage (whether it has it or not). Point is, this is an important factor for me, so you'll have to excuse my need to clarify that point. For what I do, that extra storage would make my life 10X's easier. You have absolutely NO clue.

Actually there were several places on line that said it as well. but either way i can live with it :)

The Incredible can only support 16gb micro sd at this time

:D official spec sheet has said 1GB ROM, 8GB microSD card. I mean, what more do you need for confirmation? :D

The Inc's 8GB is just for mass media files - you cant install apps to it and apps cant even read data from it in most cases. It's not like you're missing much.

A while back I think somebody posted a site that listed EVERY possible corporate discount - can anybody provide a link to that? I'm trying like hell to save money on my bill...

Funny you say this...Yesterday I called sprint to see if I could get a better discount on my bill (from the 15% one I get for being a student at my university), and I mentioned that I volunteer at Henry Ford Hospital and they upped my discount to 23%! I was happy.

I get that, and I would not say you are in the wrong at all. If sprint gives it to you knowingly, that is their choice. My point is I'm not going to call sprint and tell them I work for chase when i dont and never have.

I just ordered my EVO from a RS yesterday. I was the third one to sign up. I went in expecting to be 20-30th on the list. Sprint needs to pick it up.

The RS lady said they would give me a call a week prior to my pick up date. I laughed and told her that wouldn't be necesary since there would be no way I would forget this thing.

I wouldn't mind what number I am. I am pre-ordering mine this weekend at radio shack.

It's a guarantee you would have the phone. That's the reason you need to pre-order by May 30th.

They sent Sprint the total pre-orders, and they will receive that amount plus a few more for walk ins.

I am not sweating about it.

I could be n#78 in the list, and if that guarantees me a phone by June 4th, no problem there.

I understand that. I absolutely DON'T need the extra storage for apps for what I do at work.

Please guide me to a Sandisk micro sd card that's either class 4 or class 6 or higher. I surely haven't been able to find a single one on the internet that wasn't class 2.
My bad.. I failed to realize you were talking about *micro* SD. It should have been painfully obvious to me that that is what you meant, but I just wasn't thinking.

However.. there seems to be some conflict between what is on sandisk's site and what you can find out and about:

SanDisk Mobile Ultra Flash memory card - 16 GB microSDHC - 1 x microSDHC

AccessoryOne.com :: Memory Cards :: SanDisk Mobile Ultra - Flash memory card - 4 GB - Class 6 - microSDHC with MobileMate Micro Reader SDSDQY-4096-S11M

So.. I might have been right, but it's not a clear-cut case of 'simply not true' like I said.

You were right, I just never saw that before, which is why I asked for the links. All of the Sandisk cards I've ever found were 2gb, so this is great to know! Although they're more expensive than other brands, I really trust Sandisk a lot.
