Right, that must be new (or newer than the last time I looked.) << where's an emoji whose eyes roll back in their sockets, and then grabs a large martini? If there isn't one, there should be. ;)

I miss the :smokingsomeb: emoji smoking a big 'ol blunt

We still have the auto default set to open links in app 👿. Not Funny. I had a whole paragraph typed put and went to check something in AF with browser and the #$&Damned link opened in Forums.apk instead of the flipping browser I WAS using, wiped everything I had written.

@bcrichster ugh sorry that sucks :(

I'm not sure how this could best be avoided though? It seems like opening AF URLs in the Forums app provides the best experience? What would be your optimal situation (and please consider that no matter what we do, we can't please everyone, so need to choose the path that pleases the majority).

It the app, like the web (and mobile web) automatically saves drafts of posts it seems like it would alleviate @bcrichster's acute problem of lost post. I'm not sure if there is a greater discussion of link handling that needs to be had.

This was my reply to a newly created thread.. I think the app should maybe ask the 1st time (before AUTOMATICALLY opening links in app) and stick with that choice. The absolute biggest irritation this app has posed for me (and I'm assuming many others, as there have been several posts by others since the beginning of the app's debut) is the automatic link deal. This app can't update and operate normally (for some reason), so an uninstall & reinstall is needed. This has been an ongoing complaint since the very beginning and it seems like it's been purposely overlooked by now.. There have been absolute massive improvements these last few updates but the link issue has never once been fixed that I'm aware of.

Having trouble replying to posts that have my name mentioned, get an F/C. Replying to any other posts are fine. Report sent also

Mind refreshing me on the 'automatic link deal'?
It automatically takes over all AF browser links upon install instead of asking 1st. It's preset to do so upon installation. No other forum type app I've ever used does this, they ask 1st. Seems like a violation of preference, Lol. I feel it would be more appropriate to address the browser link options with 1st link selection while on browser or just be preset to 'ask every time'.

There is an auto-verify flag set to true in the manifest. Honestly,I thought it never worked since Everytime I click a link it asks. Could be different for me since I have a debug signing key.

If you link a domain name to an app and prove ownership, you can auto verify those domain URLs. Removing the flag may be a solution but before I say this is what we are doing I will discuss a little with @Rob. I personally do not like how Android handles app links because the app either handles it or not and even if I have logic to handle a link to open in a browser, the browser can send it right back to the app. lol.

I can trick it by adding www and the redirect gets handled differently but I will review all my options to see what's best.

That sounds like you have an excellent idea on how to go about looking into this, you've been doing excellent work, Steve. You've done some excellent work on this and I'm loving the Blackout theme, it's beautiful.

When trying to open images in app, it makes me use browser (no hate on browser use in any way). When browser opens, I get this:
