So who is the first person you are going to call when getting your evo?????

Ill be calling my wife that is also getting the evo lol
 
what is handbrake?...is it just another file conversion program?

also what is the best format to play movies on a mobile device so as to maximize the evo's capabilities...all the movies on my pre are in mp4 format...will this be good for the evo, or is their a format that gives better resolution etc....grassy ass
 
I will call my dad to brag about having mine before he does, which will cause him to get pissed off and spend 450 to get it....if he can find one.

i'll be calling my iphone toting brother, who is not buying the evo hype (no surprise)...and i hope i'll be video calling him via skype (him on the pc of course) or texting him a link to some live qik streaming....oh yeah can't wait

how do i tell which companies have friends and family discounts? when i clicked on a bunch of them (like sprint.com/ibm) i didn't find one that mention friends and families.

also, anyone know if you can get a corporate discount even if you buy your evo from RS?

Hotspotting will be a sore spot until the signal is reliable. Can you imagine having up to 8 people/devices tethered and the hysteria of drops and freezes due to signal? I won't even think about the hotspotting until I see a bunch of people saying it's working really well.

Hotspotting should have at least a free trial period even if it's a little as 7 days (I think they should give at least a full week so you can use it under a normal week's circumstances).

i really hope the building penetration thing with 4g is not as bad as it's being made out to be...i'd like to be able to get a good signal in my house at all times
 
meh this gives me a good reason to set up my colo that i wanted to do for a while. pay 50$ a month and have my own personal streaming site with all the media i want on a server that can do torrents and add more to my que as i download more torrents ahh the blissfulness of colocation

Hell if I'll know. I'll be waiting for someone else to figure it out--can't be that hard. I probably could figure it out, but I have no experience with Android, let alone modding it, so I'll allow someone in a better position to do it.

I tried to search this out earlier & failed miserably.

Side note: will we have a work around to sync itunes videos to the EVO?

It is my personal experience that MP4 files are superior to 3GP, even when encoded with all the same basic settings except output type. The file size is of course larger.

However, I've also seen documentation that the Evo will support WMA files...:

... which generic Android does not. I have no experience with that format, and cannot comment on whether it would be superior to MP4 (again, assuming that both were encoded with the same basic settings).

If it's anything like the Hero I hope the Evo has the ringtone trimmer installed on the phone. Then you can use your own music to make ringers and use any part of the song you want etc.
 
man I really hope 2.2 comes with more animations on the homescreen. I hate that the clock doesnt flip or even look as good as the HD2, and the lack of full screen weather at all times
