if the display is off, can u turn the screen on with the volume rocker...? (random i know, but it is a physical button, and i'm curious...)

EDIT* maybe make a new thread... so we don't hijack this one... just a thought...

jeph ghost, can you copy all of the system files to an sd card and upload it? it would really help devs start the rooting process sooner.

here is how to do it:

Well just input to help.. Download form Google's market Astro Folder, then once downloaded do following steps.

1) Open Astro, Top icons (Home, UP, Mutli, etc) next to Home is a UP icon, select that icon until it shows some files:
cache, config, d, data, etc.. system should be the last folder.

2) Now go into system folder the last folder, and hold and press folder a menu pop up will appear.

3) Select edit, and then copy.

4) Once a copy has been selected go to folder named sdcard. You should now see apps, files, music, etc that you have in your sd card.

6) Once you've selected your sdcard, select edit once again and now paste.. This will take a moment as it is copying over all system files from the phone. You should not receive any errors and no need to have sd formatted or any special things..

7) Once copy is finalized plug into cpu/labtop and copy from sd card the system folder.

8) Now that the system folder is on your cpu/labtop make it into a zip file and upload to your file sharing site: mediafire, etc..

or if you are a mac user here are the steps:

Let me clear this up for you as I can understand what ID is saying, but it can be confusing for a Mac user.

1. Download the AndroidSDK and install it. I installed it to /Users/(YOUR USERNAME)/AndroidSDK/

2. Connect Evo and make sure that USB Debugging is ENABLED under Applications>Development in the Settings of the Evo.

3. Open Terminal and type the following command:
Code:
cd /AndroidSDK/tools
(This is if you installed the SDK to the same place as I installed mine.

4. Now type the following in Terminal:
Code:
./adb pull system /system
5. This will drop the dump into the ~/AndroidSDK/tools folder. Take it, zip it up, and send it in!

Are you able to post some videos on some of the features that we still might not have seen yet in any other videos. Like a preloaded game?

Jeph, what's the sound quality like? Can you hear people clearly and easily? Does it naturally rest on your ear in the right spot?

Thanks!

Sound quality is solid as is speakerphone; nice and loud. First time I held it up to my ear I heard perfectly. No worries on that end.
