Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

my order number isn't recognized either.
i was told it wouldn't till i got a tracking number/had been processed
so you probably didn't type anything wrong in.

and imagine they are stressed...I am a bit impatient but there are
quite a few belligerent people who make a big deal because they have to
wait.

I made a deal because i keep getting a conflicting story

bur oh well..

This is how I got my phone for free. I wasn't rude or annoying. I simply explained the various stories and bad promises I got from Verizon. They were very understanding.
 
For people that ordered their phone in the store. Your order status or tracking won't appear until your phone is actually in the FedEx mailing service. Before then, if your put in your order number and last name nothing will come up.

Ok, I knew I wouldn't get a FedEx tracking no, I figured Verizon would have their own way of tracking orders so that I could at least see the information that the Verizon sales people see so I could stop pestering them. Guess not, but thanks for clarifying, though.

I ordered mine from a VZW store (LA metro area) on 5/13. I told the salesperson that I was hoping they could waive the activation fee to make it worthwhile to break my contract with AT&T a month early, and they gave me $50 off of the phone instead. It never hurts to ask. :)
Anyway, I've spoken to VZW CS people, and I was told that if I ordered from a store, my best bet is to call the store where I got it to check the status. I've called every day this week, and they really don't have an estimate on shipping (they say), they'll just know when it has shipped. I did learn 2 things, though: 1) if you don't already have a VZW account, they won't email you a tracking number -- you have to call the store to get it. 2) I spoke with a rep this morning who said that they usually process most of their shipments in the evening to go out the next day. He suggested that I call in the evenings (around 7 or 8) to know if it is going out the next day.

I'm always pretty impatient, but I'm downright antsy for this phone. :P
 
Maybe I'll call the store I ordered from tonight then, the guy did say to call back in a week to see if it shipped.

I know there's like a 90% chance nothing will come of this call but it does make me feel proactive somehow...

I think you'll get something out of the call. Either you'll know you'll have the phone tomorrow or Saturday, or wondering whether it is on it's way won't drive you crazy.
 
Ordered my phone in store on 5/13 was told would be shipped from sales rep by 5/28 or 29, but most likely would get it earlier. Called customer rep 2 people told me 2 different dates. May 28th and June 1st.

I want my phone!!!
 
I do not think any dates provided by reps are going to be reliable. If you order an Incredible be prepared to wait at least 2 weeks for it to be shipped. I ordered one last night along with a Palm Pre Plus(which is in my hands right now) for my wife. The rep on the phone last night told me my Incredible would ship next week. The web site said June 8th, then changed to June 9th within a 30 minute time period. I just got off the phone with a store who said it would ship June 3rd if I ordered one today. Let me make a call to Verizon right now....

"We are seeing some phones coming a little sooner than the anticipated arrival, but plan on June 9th."

So maybe just plan on 3 weeks to be safe.
 
Order mine the 12th also. Hoping for a pleasant surprise of a tracking email soon.

PS-Anyone notice that the Verizon site changes the date for the Incredible at least twice a day now? It's now 6/11.
 
I ordered my Incredible on Friday, May 7th. I was told by the sales rep that the phone wasn't expected to ship until 5/19. I the main Verizon support number on Sunday evening to find out if there was a way to check the order status online. To my surprise, the rep told me that it was scheduled to be delivered on the following day (Monday, 5/10), and she provided me with a tracking number. Sure enough, my Incredible showed up on Monday afternoon.

A co-worker ordered his phone a few days later, and he still hasn't received his phone yet.

I guess I got lucky and ordered before the big rush.
 
When I ordered my phone in-store on the 8th the VZW employee told me that the warehouse in Memphis had 21,000 Incredibles in stock, but that 9000 were already sold and slated to go out. She told me that I would get one of the remaining 12,000 and that she "would be shocked" if I didn't have it within a week. It has now been almost two weeks.

My guess is that a combination of FedEx and VZW's warehouse is the problem. As a former UPS employee I can tell you that the sorting facilities have a threshold of the number of packages they can process in a night. Just like VZW's warehouse has a limit on the number of phones they can box up and label. There is a pretty good chance that Verizon and FedEx worked out an agreement to stagger shipping - say a few thousand a night so that both could keep up.

One problem with my guess is that the main Fedex sorting facility is in Memphis. I'd have to think that they could handle all that extra volume without a problem. Maybe the bottleneck lies in the fact that Verizon just can't box and label them fast enough? Or maybe the VZW employee who told me that there were 21,000 DInc's didn't know her arse from a hole in the ground.

There is no capacity issue in the warehouse or at the FedEx sorting facility. The warehouse ships new deliveries out to customers to fill the oldest batch of orders as soon as the phones arrive. These are high volume facilities. The issue is how quickly HTC can manufacture and ship phones.
 
Ok, now THAT ticks me off. I read where one other person is also getting it free... I have called 4 times, been told 4 different things, on top of being told before I placed the order that the darn thing WAS in stock - and no one has offered me any kind of concession whatsoever.

Now, the most recent call (5 minutes ago) tells me that I will HAVE it BY May 28. First she said "ship by" but then within a minute she specifically said "It could ship sooner depending when they come in, but you will have it by the 28th."

My order date was May 12, and so far I've never been given a June "ship by" date. Although one rep said it will ship BY May 27th, and then he turned around and said "between May 27-31" which could end up resulting in a June receive date because of the holiday.

Been told twice now that all I can do is just wait for a tracking number and expect it the following day. So I guess that's what I'm stuck with.

I think it's a little ridiculous that they seem to have NO info from the manufacturers though. If they expect to be able to start shipping before next Friday, they should darn well have a very good idea when they're expecting the stock to arrive from the place they order it from and when they expect to begin shipping. This goes for any industry with a shipment/delivery THIS big.

One week (or less) out, you cannot have me believe that they just plain "don't know". Not when they are expecting a shipment this big and are confidently telling people things will ship within the next 6-7 days. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

The "ship by" dates have always been clearly posted on VZW's intranet for all employees to see, and that is the date they should have given you. None of the dates have gotten longer, so if the date they gave you has changed, it is because they didn't look up the correct date for that day's orders. I'm sad to tell you that is a "SHIP BY" date, it is not a deliver by date. I don't know why people make stuff up.

VZW will have the phones to you or in the process of shipping by the date they told you when you purchased the phone. If they don't, THEN we have something to really start calling and complaining about.

If you dont get the phone or tracking number by the 27th I would cancel it wand wait out till august there may be some better/nicer phones. just my opinion :)
