A Metropolitan Opera singer Spiro Malas died yesterday. His wife Marlena Malas is a famous voice teacher. I've sung with Spiro in Boston years ago.

I remember every bit of this clip, but it doesn't include the birthday party part. I could easily have muddled two channels' segments in my head, but I looked at other potential channels' sites and am coming up blank. At any rate, this is a nice segment about Friend.
