Bill here is the site, tell me what ya think.....HTC EVO 4G review -- Engadget

Unlike Bill I have to report that I have a handset which does have the leakeage reported by Engadget.

It is not extreme, but if you look closely under the home, menu, and back buttons there is a small amount of leakage, it also is under the search button as well however I did not capture that in the shot. BTW This picture was taken with a Hero, not the EVO.

So there is more than one. that is very interesting. Think it is just a couple bad ones or what....bothers me a bit. I guess as long as I don't get one I'll be happy.

If mine has this leakage I will have to return for one that doesnt.

The photograph showing the iPod Touch over the EVO does not seem right. In the photo, when the iPod Touch is placed over the EVO, one can see the "back" key. This means that the iPod Touch should be a little more than 1/2 the width of the EVO, with a whole lot of EVO screen shown on the side, which is clearly not the case, as shown in the next photograph with the 3 phones lying side by side. I don't think the EVO screen is so much wider than the iPod Touch, though it is certainly bigger. On closer examinations, one can see that the iPod touch is placed on top and to the left of the EVO. Also the edge comparison between the EVO and the TP2 is like comparing apples to oranges because the TP2 has a physical keyboard, whereas the iPod Touch & EVO do not.

Just my 2 cents.
non of it is to scale. i didn't mount the camera to take it directly over the objects. you should be happy that there's even pictures to see.

the itouch is clearly smaller in all aspects. i can place the sticker over the evo screen directly to show you if you want. but i don't think that's necessary as i've already proven the itouch is smaller. also if you did read what i posted, i said that the itouch screen is the same size as the iphone so it's a good representation of the screen! not the overall size.

This might be considered off topic, but it's about some of our forum members.

Five of us from the Tampa area got together this afternoon to discuss the EVO 4G and to play with it. Matt (Mateo), Dylan (dylan88), Travis (tpp0230), Travis' wife Kathy, and myself. Mateo was generous and offered us accommodations at the Marriott where he's a manager. Thanks, Matt and thank you for the nice meal and good conversation. It was really great meeting everyone.

I'm sorry that I didn't get more pictures. Since there's more of us from this area, maybe we can all get together once everyone has their own phone.

That was nice.. I am glad to see the Navi turns when you turn the phone. Now I hope the phone cansit in the car dock either way.

A decent video in my opinion.

YouTube - Sprint HTC EVO 4G Video Review

I do want to note or maybe even argue, that when she says that the iphone display looks more brighter and vibrant. Is due to the fact that the EVO comes with the default sprint skin, which is mainly black, grey, and white with a touch of sprint yellow. I dont think its a fair assessment. She should have put on a different more colorful skin. Then make a comparasion. Otherwise good review.

NOOb question, but are the buttons on the bottom touch sensitive buttons, or are they actual real buttons that press in?

also do you really think the light leakage is a hardware issue different in each device? i think people are just noticing it, or they arent. i really dont think some were built in such a way that doesnt like light leak, and some are...but maybe im wrong?

the buttons are touch sensitive. they mention that around the 1min mark in this video:

Rose, you may already know this, but I believe the landscape mode only works with the earpiece on the left side.

In the video at the 4:10-4:24 mark, the reviewer turns it with the earpiece to the right and it doesn't go into landscape mode until she reverses it.

Of course I could be wrong, perhaps someone with the phone could confirm if landscape mode works either direction.

it only goes into landscape one way...this didnt really bother me on the hero too much but thats just me.

Oh yeah I saw that in another video where it only does Landscape one way.. I forgot about that! I'm used to my TP2 opening the keyboard. But I wanted to have this in the car dock in Landscape mode. I just wasn't sure about the car dock if the phone would work both ways or just protrait. But Thanks!

I know that I'm probably going to get a sarcastic remark from someone but where can we find these. Are these Sprint "official" accessories?

These are the ones that they showed at the may 12 event. I think the general consensus is that these will be available at launch, but i dont think anyone knows for sure.

The White/Chrome one at least has surfaced on here before.
