...has been canceled due to COVID-19.
The Rose Parade has been an integral part of my life, since growing up three blocks south of Colorado Blvd. We'd get up early on New Year's Day, walk three blocks up, and watch the parade.
When I lived out-of-state, I'd watch it on TV...and wish I was home, enjoying the beautiful mountains, weather, and amazing floats.
You really can't grasp the magnitude of what goes into making the floats without seeing them in person. Millions and millions of flower petals, leaves, seeds, blossoms, etc., are used; every millimeter of each float must be covered with a part of a plant. The floats for the next year are started in February.
This is a first in my lifetime. A sad one.
