Yea I read that report.

Im actually curious about it, the RS I am picking up my EVO at is directly behind my house....maybe a couple hundred feet away.

I am already in good 4G coverage, Im just wondering how strong the RS's signal will be and if it will almost "web" over the 4G coverage by my house?

Guess I wont know til nex Friday :D

Those are in-building repeaters, which I don't know the specs on, but I'll bet unless you are right in front of the store front opening, it won't affect you much.

Purely guessing here, but if they have one of those repeaters I bet you're gonna be swimming in 4G heaven!! Lucky you!! :p

My RS doesn't know about getting repeater yet. They're begging for one though. I hope they get it because it's about 1/2 mile from my house with 1/4 mile of the distance being unobstructed lake so I'm hoping their repeater signal will give me 4G at home.

I'm about 10 miles outside the Philly coverage area but there are Sprint locations about 2-3 miles away that claim they will be getting 4G repeaters and will have coverage.

Unless you are in PA or DE? Then you are in my general area lol.

All Im worried about is the 4G Signal getting thru my house. I have no idea of how strong that repeater is, or if my RS will even have it....but its always nice to dream.

NJ - just outside Trenton. I'm praying for 4G. QB Mall Sprint said they're getting repeater, but it's not going to cover me. Sprint's in Hamilton have said "maybe." RS in Robbinsville "we want it but don't know."

Friends in Burlington County not even 10 miles away said they can pick it up.

So close yet so far.

Ha, yea you're just outside the reach, I work in Burlington County and my office is pretty much on the last stretch of 4G Coverage before its all spotty.

Now I am really curious how much these repeaters will spread out.

That whole WiMax/Walmart rumor from a couple months ago sure needs to come into play again.

Well given the source I wouldn't hold my breath.

They really do need to build out South Jersey or at least light up the Jersey Shore. I go there a lot during the summer and wouldn't be sweet to have 4G on the beach?

I'm pretty optimistic the Walmart/Wimax thing comes into play and gets announced some time mid-summer. Benefits both. Never bought Wimax towers with Walmart, but I'd buy repeaters.

My pain's even more accute because when I visit most of my friends north of where I live, some are reporting spotty but now present NYC Wimax signal. It's literally driving me nuts. I spend enough time in Wimax-covered areas though that it'll just make me miss it when I'm at home.

I know that Sprint includes Sprint Navigation in the Everything Family Share plans and I use it frequently, but does Verizon include that at no cost in their plan? I thought they were charging another $9.99 per month (or $2.99 per day).

Are there other free features provided by Sprint that others charge for?

Google Nav is free on all carriers on Android phones. It's very good.

Hey all-

Been lurking the last few weeks. Got my pre-order in on the 14th and looking forward to finally saying bye to the Treo 700w in 7 days.

Anyone know whether any form of Exchange comes with in 2.1 or will this not be available until 2.2 is rollled out?

Thanks in advance.

but, you paid 54 bucks today. when they ring up the phone, it'll be purchase price + tax - $54. it's the same, right?

however, you shouldn't be paying tax on gift cards. that'd be like you giving me $54 and me giving you a $50 bill. you walked outta there with a $54 gift card, right?

ok i had to re-read most of the post in here can some 1 help me please
i paid 50.00 straight for gift card and went here for tax caculation :
NY STATE SALES TAX CALCULATOR

it said nyc tax is 13.31 and brought everything to total cost of 163.31 is this how much my evo will cost me when i goto pick it up or did i caculate wrong can some 1 help me

Hey guys I have a question? I've only used BB and Pre, so excuse if this question is dumb, but is Android capable of getting viruses? Is there some sort of anti-virus, spyware, malware needed?

This is a great question! The Evo will be my first Android experience too and I did see some anti-virus applications in the market and was wondering if they were really necessary.

Looking forward to answers from the experts here.

Just use the condom app on the Android site and you will be fine

Well just got back from the Sprint store setting up my account. I asked to see the EVO but he said it was out at the time. The rep was very knowledgable, he told me about the $5 Qik charge and told me about Skype capability on Fring (without me even asking). They had two EVOs at the store in the morning and they had them video chatting on Skype through Fring.

I did get some hands-on time with the black Body Glove case and it was pretty nice. It was hard and felt like plastic to me but I'm not sure. It's a two piece case with the front plate that detaches. It was fairly slim considering. I'm sold and will be picking one up at launch with my EVO :)
