Yea I read that report.
Im actually curious about it, the RS I am picking up my EVO at is directly behind my house....maybe a couple hundred feet away.
I am already in good 4G coverage, Im just wondering how strong the RS's signal will be and if it will almost "web" over the 4G coverage by my house?
Guess I wont know til nex Friday![]()
Purely guessing here, but if they have one of those repeaters I bet you're gonna be swimming in 4G heaven!! Lucky you!!![]()
My RS doesn't know about getting repeater yet. They're begging for one though. I hope they get it because it's about 1/2 mile from my house with 1/4 mile of the distance being unobstructed lake so I'm hoping their repeater signal will give me 4G at home.
I'm about 10 miles outside the Philly coverage area but there are Sprint locations about 2-3 miles away that claim they will be getting 4G repeaters and will have coverage.
Unless you are in PA or DE? Then you are in my general area lol.
All Im worried about is the 4G Signal getting thru my house. I have no idea of how strong that repeater is, or if my RS will even have it....but its always nice to dream.
NJ - just outside Trenton. I'm praying for 4G. QB Mall Sprint said they're getting repeater, but it's not going to cover me. Sprint's in Hamilton have said "maybe." RS in Robbinsville "we want it but don't know."
Friends in Burlington County not even 10 miles away said they can pick it up.
So close yet so far.
Ha, yea you're just outside the reach, I work in Burlington County and my office is pretty much on the last stretch of 4G Coverage before its all spotty.
Now I am really curious how much these repeaters will spread out.
That whole WiMax/Walmart rumor from a couple months ago sure needs to come into play again.

I know that Sprint includes Sprint Navigation in the Everything Family Share plans and I use it frequently, but does Verizon include that at no cost in their plan? I thought they were charging another $9.99 per month (or $2.99 per day).
Are there other free features provided by Sprint that others charge for?
Those are in-building repeaters, which I don't know the specs on, but I'll bet unless you are right in front of the store front opening, it won't affect you much.
Here you go. Not the best repeater.

Update 5/28/10 9:41AM: After a quick phone call from Skype
but, you paid 54 bucks today. when they ring up the phone, it'll be purchase price + tax - $54. it's the same, right?
however, you shouldn't be paying tax on gift cards. that'd be like you giving me $54 and me giving you a $50 bill. you walked outta there with a $54 gift card, right?
Hey guys I have a question? I've only used BB and Pre, so excuse if this question is dumb, but is Android capable of getting viruses? Is there some sort of anti-virus, spyware, malware needed?

Well just got back from the Sprint store setting up my account. I asked to see the EVO but he said it was out at the time. The rep was very knowledgable, he told me about the $5 Qik charge and told me about Skype capability on Fring (without me even asking). They had two EVOs at the store in the morning and they had them video chatting on Skype through Fring.
I did get some hands-on time with the black Body Glove case and it was pretty nice. It was hard and felt like plastic to me but I'm not sure. It's a two piece case with the front plate that detaches. It was fairly slim considering. I'm sold and will be picking one up at launch with my EVO![]()
