Accessories Seidio 1600mAh extended life battery

Yep, got it yesterday.
The Amazon customer reviews suggest you can charge an iPhone 1.5 times, and an iPod 4 times. I could do the math(s) if I wasn't in a hurry!
It juiced up my Desire from dead overnight, but it seems the pack keeps depleting even when it's done its job and was empty by the morning, so I don't know how much longer it could have gone on.
Both the charger and pack look and feel high quality.

thanks will order it now i think. when i said looks cheap i din't mean the device looks cheap, just that the price is cheap compared to others i've seen :p

edit: its capacity is 1800mAh
 
think I will get that one I linked above over the kensington with its mah rating being much higher for the same price, plus no fit state having one also.

Its mainly for my archos when traveling, but will work well for my HTC while at Silverstone for the grand prix weekend
 
Let us know what its like, my kensington arrived today, just put it on charge. Will refuse to charge my phone at work today and use this on the train to see how it works.
 
For the people who bought the U2O i-UP charger packs, the website says that the adapter is 220V AC. Is this really correct? Could someone please check for me whether 100V isn't supported as well by any chance. It just seems a little strange in this time and age to support just one type of mains when all devices that I've seen in the past 4 years support both. Thanks.


P.S. For people who got the PortaPow one, what are the AC mains specifications? I can't find anything on their website >_<

Just used the portapower pack to charge my phone over night from about 10% of remaining power with the phone turned off. 4 out 5 led lights still come on when doing a remaing power check. Looks like it could be good for 2.5 maybe 3 charges if you leave the phone off while charging

How big is it compared to the desire? Also does it actually charge the phone when you are using the phone? So that the actual battery left still rises while using?

About 20mm shorter, 5mm thicker and the same width as the Desire.

Haven't tried using it to charge the Desire while using it. Only overnight while both on and off.
 
really pleased with the portapow pack, used it yesterday on my Archos 5 internet tablet and it helped extend the life of that notoriously poor battery.

Waiting for my phone to run down today and tonight and will try to charge it up tomorrow when Im at my desk and can keep an eye on it, but so far very impressed.

With all the tips you get as standard and others you can buy, means I only need take away this battery pack and one usb wall socket when I go on holiday for all our devices
 
My Proporta USB Turbocharger 3400 should arrive tomorrow. I do a lot of train travel and watch vids etc.. a lot. The pack will mean I don't have to get my laptop out just to charge the phone. Also better than a second battery in my view as no phone downtime or ripping the back off all the time. So I will report back shortly.

I went for this one due to the reviews which seem to indicate this product has the best bits of all similar ones incorporated.

I purchased a seidio 1600 battery shortly after receiving my Desire, i have been using it for a while ,but recently replaced it with the OEM one, it seems that the original gives a longer life.
Also i bought a phone charger from ebay, made in china, it has a 2200mAh lithium battery, is charged via mains, car socket , usb or via the built in solar cell, great for when i go camping, and less than 20 quid (oops sorry, for those not from these green and beautiful shores, thats

One tell if these battery's that claim to give longer runtime than the original is to weigh the battery, if it is lighter than the original it`s not going to last longer or even match it.
 
is it a typo? The battery in the desire is 1400mAh, 350mAh doesn't sounds like it would do much good..

Read "emergency". It doesn't look big either, so I think that may not be a typo.

am looking at getting the proporta this week, how many full battery charges does it do?

Tried it on the phone today, it took my battery from 16% to 100% in 2 hours and the lights on the battery indicate I still have between 40% & 60% of the power left.

This is the packs 2nd charge and 1 discharge (hate that word lol), so I would expect to get another charge out of whats left and with a bit more conditioning, part of another charge, so i am well happy with this.

One thing though ... make sure you either use the cable supplied or one you know before you go will charge the phone. I tried to use the cable supplied with the car charger 1st of all and it seemed to be taking the power from the phone and giving it to the charger, but used the supplied lead and no worries.

Proporta is the same as the portapow one I have reviewed and linked above, cheaper if you go through their website

Thanks a bunch just been on there website and i does indeed look the same with the same spec etc.

how much did it total up to? i cant find postage on the site.

Seems like the product will do 3-4 charges of the phone before itself needing charging.

read my findings above, 3 or 4 is stretching it ... postage is
 
yeah am happy if i can get two charges out of it :) il buy of amazon as it works out about the same price.
