Is there a way to transfer contacts from another phone?

I bought the Droid at Wal-Mart and they were clueless about how to transfer contacts. I tried connecting them via bluetooth and they pair but don't connect. After searching it seems Android only uses bluetooth for headsets.

Does anybody know how to make this work via bluetooth or have any other solution for me?

BTW - the phone kicks ass.

My other phone with the contacts is an LG Voyager.

I have a Q also. I created a new gmail account. Synced them to Google contacts and then sync Google contacts with the Droid. Very easy. Also syncs the calendar.

Did you use Google Sync? I saw that but it said to back up your phone first and I'm having trouble doing that easily to say the least. God I hate windows mobile.

Hi Guys & girls and Welcome to the Forum! :D

I'm unaware if this option is on the Droid {is on my Magic} but if you copy all your contacts to your Sim card -> Put it in your Droid -> Go to contacts -> Press Menu -> Import contacts -> Contacts should now be stored on the phone and automatically sync online with Google

Another way is :

Somehow on your other phones {if possible , dependant on handset} get your contacts and Export them as a CSV file or vCard file and then you can import them onto your phone via Google Contacts then that will sync them to your phone no problem"

if your phone has the function like some sort of Back up service you may be able to log into this Backup service online and then Export your contacts as a CSV or vCard file then import it to your Google contacts.
