Root [ROM] Android 2.2 FroYo - Brought to you by MDW (OC & Flash 10.1!)

Got everything working now and going pretty fast with one exception...Market. Has anyone been able to figure out to speed up markets response time?

From my limited trial, it appears that each time browser is restarted, you have to complete the above steps again to reset the UAString. I'm watching the LOST series finale (again) on my Droid as we speak ;)

anyone having issues with setcpu and the kernals? My setcpu isnt detecting the new kernels, limiting me to 600mhz, whith quadrant only hitting 967... boo.

Make sure you go to SetCPU menu, then Device Selection, then "auto detect". Works fine for me...

If I had wifi hotspot tethering and Fab's theming, I'd be in Droid heaven. In the meantime, letting all my friends drool over hulu on the phone will be a fair compromise!

I am worried about the phone running at around 95-110 degrees Fahrenheit. What is the highest temp the phone can handle before I should start panicking? I'm knocking my processor speed back to 800 MHz (from 1 GHz) to be on the safe side.
 
Works awesome! But: has anyone else found that upon updating, they can't get the standard dictionary to work? I now only get predicted words that were in my user dictionary as backed up from Titanium. No matter how many times I download/reisntall keyboard apps like better keyboard with their own dictionaries, I can't get the phone to predict simple english words. Happening to anyone else?

Because the developer has to implement it into the app.

So far, the only apps I have that support it are 'Abduction' and 'Jewels'

As Froyo rolls out, more apps will be updated to be movable.
 
Anyone else having issues with SETCPU? I installed the 1.1 overclock kernal. WIFI works, but when I go in setCPU it is set at a max of 600mhz and min of 250 and wont let me modify it.
 
Help! I installed froyo using SPRecovery and now it's been stuck at that eye icon for almost 10 minutes now. How long is it supposed to be? I'm not sure whether or not I should just restart again or keep waiting.

Works for me. Did you restore a backup or something? I downloaded it from the market.

Did you choose 'autodetect frequencies'

You need to load the Kernels. Try loading 1ghz, very stable for me.

It takes a while for it to boot up, just wait it out.
 
The flash apk here: Adobe Flash Player 10.1_10.1.61.68.apk keeps downloading as a .apk.zip for me. I'm not sure why. Perhaps it is because I'm in Mac OS. I've tried renaming it to just .apk but when i moved it to my Droid it still thinks it's an archive. I can't just clock on it an install it.

EDIT: Fixed it. Not sure why OS X thought it was a zip. Even when i changed it to just .apk I guess the .zip was still there hidden. Removed the .zip with astro and it installed. OS X is nice but it just babies you too much sometimes! Nothing like the freedom windows gives you.

I thought that with this update we would be able to go to flash game sites and play games but that is not happening here. I downloaded the flash player apk which ran as a txt file but I still do not have access to any flash content online. Any thoughts here?

What are the "Improvements" in the market app that were hyped (besides auto update)? Are there any? They said there would be a much nicer interface to the market now.

...The launcher I'm running (in the screenshots) is LauncherPro (not the 2.2 launcher)

Having said that, I was playing with the stock launcher now that the ROM is running faster (after the little break in period), the default launcher isn't half bad. It's not as good/fast as LauncherPro or ADW IMO but for the people that prefer the stock launcher, it's decent.

Did you install the apk? You need to put it on your SD card as an APK, then use a file manager to install (I use Astro File manager)...

Please note, that not ALL games on ALL sites will work. I read a while back that they still need to be converted for Flash 10.1 mobile...Just FYI
