Even the iPhone runs Android 2.2 before the Incredible :(

Hello sir,

Simple question: Do you own an Incredible or an iPhone?

edit: oops, it's in your profile. you have both.

I don't really have a pony in this race. I'm just happy the inc is fast as hell

I have an Incredible of course! I do not miss my 3GS at all. Just wishin' root was or for our sweet phones :)

I'd hardly call that "running" Android 2.2. Can't even use GPU or Wi-Fi and gets super hot after 5 minutes. Move on, nothing to see here folks....

I posted this about the Moto Droid last week and got flamed for it. Everyone complained that it didnt make a difference when 2.2 comes out cuz their soooo happy with the way the DInc runs now. Here we go again. They're gonna be the first ones posting when the update comes out "2.2 rules"

Personally, I'm pretty pysched about the update. If for no other reason than it's supposed to be much faster. I'm also excited about wifi tethering, though I'm getting the feeling my carrier (Verizon) is going to charge for the data usage related to the tethering. Regardless of the fact that I currently pay for "unlimited" data usage...

2.1, 2.2 whats the big deal? Is it some major earth-shattering improvement we can't live without? Doubt it.

like other poster stated, speed big time. benchmarks are showing devices with 2.1 are 2-4X faster with the new OS....

Well I say it's time to be optimistic...

Instead of being mad that 2.2 isn't out for us yet... let's be happy that we have a few more weeks of our "slow" 2.1 speeds so when 2.2 is out, it will be that much greater!

Ok it was a stretch...but 2.2 will come and I realize most of us are totally psyched about it...but it's not like 2.1 is a slug.

Flash. There's a lot of flash websites I can't use because its beyond the scope of our "lite" version, but I've heard they work great on 2.2 phones. It's all about the games ;)

Come on people, I love the Incredible as much as the next guy, but let's not act like 2.2 won't be a great improvement. The speed increase and flash alone make it far better, and I don't even know what other improvements have been made. 2.1 definitely works great, but I eagerly await 2.2.

lame! Dude the incredible will be able to run a cooked 2.2 rom as soon as its rooted. Its not like that 2.2 on the I phone is an official rom. I dont know about 2.2 but my friend tried 2.1 and it ate his batter up in a few hours witch made it no more than a novelty anyways, not something you could use day to day on the I phone

You can already get flash. Somebody made an apk from the evo's rom. look on xda-developer's foruma for it

I'm excited for 2.2 but I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting for it to come. Nor am I going to throw a hissy fit when some other phone can run it before my Inc. I've got plenty of other stuff to focus my energy on. 2.2 will happen when it happens.

I agree with what you say, I'm really looking forward to 2.2 and am waiting for it patiently, and while 2.1 runs well, I'm also not gonna say that 2.1 is the best and "who needs 2.2"...
