Accessories Largest battery for evo that doesnt require larger back

Knowing that batteries for other phones work in the Evo, which ones are the largest that don't require a new back plate and are cheapest?

thanks! do you happen to know that batteries manufacturer's name or a link to where its sold, or what device it is being sold for?

I used a cheap Chinese knockoff ghetto battery on my G1. It was 2400 mAh and it outperformed my standard (obviously) and my 2600 mAh SEIDIO. So those knockoffs can be good.

I bought two 1500mah knock offs on Ebay for my Hero @ $17.50 and got the charger too. They worked great. I bought two more now for my Evo and frankly, I think they work just as good as the OEM.

I used that exact 2000mah battery on my TP2. It works well for a day or two, but then starts causing the TP2 to freeze, so I ditched it for the Seido 1750mah, which is a great battery. I'm using the 1750 on my Evo now.

I *MIGHT* gave the 2000mah battery a shot too if I still feel the need for more life, but i honestly doubt it'll get that much better.

How much time are you getting out of it?

I would be very, very cautious buying a no-name battery. I know for a fact with AA rechargeables these guys overrate the capacity all the time. I mean what's stopping them from coming out with some crap and throwing a "5000mah" label on it? It's not like they have any reputation they are worried about.

For those that know, how can one test if the battery is true to its claims? I'd like to know if there's some sort of special tool to test. TIA.

i wish the alternative wasnt the 1750 (roughly 15% more capacity...meh) and waiting for the massive 3500 one that requires a new back. I'd spring for a 2000+ one that didnt need a new back easily, I'm just underwhelmed by the choices

My solution was to get 3000 ahr external battery pack from Brookstone. Comes with everything you need to charge any device (including iphone/pod/etc) Very light weight. Got mine in Reno NV for $79

hmm makes me think... the new tp2 battery is 2000mah but i think its thicker than we can use. how much space do we have between the batt and the case?
