Anyone watch Microsoft's E3?

I'm a Sony fanboy by default, purely because the others have screwed over gamers so badly in the quest for cash.

I was on my 4th Xbox, before I threw it in the bin and gave up waiting for replacements. After I picked up my PS3, I very quickly realized how Microsoft created a internet fueled Playstation hate clicq, when the reality was, it was THEIR product that was the steaming pile of dung, offering a overpriced and undelivering online service, horrendous build quality and noise, locked in proprietary peripherals and sub-par exclusives.

I never had a Wii (the last Nintendo console I had was a N64). I have several people with DS, and it seems fine if that's your thing (for games, it's a poor choice to a PSP personally, which has better games, better features and better graphics) but I detest how Nintendo have gotten their marketshare, with 6monthly updates of the DS, which offering very little new, constant breaking of backwards compatibility, and in particular the way they have fooled consumers with the Wii, pretending it's something new and exciting, when it's nothing that that PS2 wasn't doing 10 years ago, the drip feeding of stock and illusion of high demand than in turn drives high demand.

As a lover of Tech, it's ONLY Sony that are offering this. Unlike Microsoft, they didn't rush their console out the door before it was working, and having to strip off features that weren't ready (only to gradually add them back in later). Sure the PS3 may have been moderately high price at lauch (no more expensive that an iPhone, and MUCH more cutting edge tech), but thats what you get when you are an early adopter.

What exactly has Nintendo done to "screw" over gamers? It's not like they're Microsoft and released a system that was known to have a high failure rate.

How did Microsoft create an "internet fueled Playstation hate clique"? From what I understand, it has been fanboys who create them for the company and not the actual company. It's like saying Google created the Apple haters.

I don't understand what you mean by "undelivering online service". From what I understand and from what I've read from several gaming critics, Xbox Live is currently the best in terms of online P2P interaction. I couldn't find the same user experience on the PS3, especially with Home. I never minded paying $10 for Xbox Live either because I could afford paying an extra $5 per week.

I do agree with you that the noise was an issue. Thankfully, I never had any problems with my 2 360's that I owned at separate times. I do really wish it had built-in wireless internet, but now thankfully that has been addressed for future potential buyers.

I personally believe that the Nintendo DS has far more to offer in terms of games. If you're a graphics freak, then yes, the PSP is your best bet. If you care more about gameplay and user experience, then the DS is your way to go. The DS simply has had more support from 3rd party as compared to the PSP and higher rated titles. Of course the kinds of games offered on DS and PSP platforms will ultimately weigh your decision so that's purely subjective. There's no constant breaking of backwards compatibility with previous DS games. I don't understand what you mean there. If you mean breaking backwards compatibility with GBA games, then well... Sony and Microsoft have both done that too.

The Wii is something new and exciting. It may not be exciting to you, but for others, it definitely is. Just because their perception of the Wii is different from yours, doesn't mean they have been fooled. The WiiMote has offered a new user experience that can't be duplicated on the PS3 and 360. A good example of it: WarioWare. What new user experience has the PS3 offered in terms of user experience in games? I've played plenty of games to realize that nothing new in the end is offered. I find myself sitting with my controller and moving the analog stick and pressing buttons. The gameplay of the great selection of games may have changed, but that isn't because of the PS3.

The Sony PS3 offered a great amount of technology to the gaming industry. I applaud them for that. I'm curious though, why did Sony get rid of 2 USB ports and flash card readers?

I just hope that all 3 systems will continue to thrive because competition forces all companies to try to do better for the next generation than they would if there was only 1 calling all of the shots. If you love your system, that's great. Why bother wasting your time and energy hating another system? Is it really worth your time? I say... don't give a crap about the other 2, but unfortunately, I know that isn't going to happen. As someone who has owned 2 360s, 2 Wiis, 2 PS3s, 1 PSP, and 3 DSs... be happy with what you have. Each company has something different to offer, whether it be in user experience, technology, games, or whatever. Is bashing one company really going to make any difference? Don't be mad, be glad! :)

This is my last post in this thread and my last view, so say what you wish. I do not plan on coming back to this.

I went to their "Kinect" party (which really wasn't much of a party)...Circ De Soleil was cool, but the people they had "playing" Natal where not really playing. They where following along with the video on the screen. It was really easy to spot in some instances...

In their booths at E3, they REALLY over did the fitness aspect. Everywhere you walked was a female showing off that if she moved her hair with her hand, it showed up on screen...I was not too impressed. I'll do an E3 write up later on and tell you guys what I thought as to the overall E3 event...I will say Natal (sorry, I keep forgetting "Kinect") and the Nintendo 3DS had the longest lines, along with Mortal Kombat...

There is ALOT of talk about how the Kinect kits are heading out to GameStop stores in the US, but the general public won't be able to try them instore, instead only trained store managers will be demoing them...

Hmm..... make of that what you will.....

That's really dumb. Anyways, I have a Play 'n Trade nearby so I can head over there to demo it if I ever feel like buying the Xbox is worth it then.

for defending them by screwing consumers over by supporting HD DVD (not because it was in consumers interests, but because it supported Toshiba against Sony).

You realize that Blu-Ray is actually the least consumer-friendly format of the two right? And please tell me that you're not naive enough to think that Microsoft had ulterior motives to support HD DVD while Sony was putting Blu-Ray players in their systems from the bottom of their hearts. I am not saying that Microsoft didn't have vested interest in HD DVD because they did. Their software ran a lot of it. That said, you can't fault MS for supporting their format when Sony supported theirs.

Because?

If anything Blu-Ray is better because is has better copy protection and better quality, both of which are pro-consumer.. (please don't try the copy protection is bad, freetard line, as we all know that just raises the prices of everything for the honest consumer...)
