I'm a Sony fanboy by default, purely because the others have screwed over gamers so badly in the quest for cash.
I was on my 4th Xbox, before I threw it in the bin and gave up waiting for replacements. After I picked up my PS3, I very quickly realized how Microsoft created a internet fueled Playstation hate clicq, when the reality was, it was THEIR product that was the steaming pile of dung, offering a overpriced and undelivering online service, horrendous build quality and noise, locked in proprietary peripherals and sub-par exclusives.
I never had a Wii (the last Nintendo console I had was a N64). I have several people with DS, and it seems fine if that's your thing (for games, it's a poor choice to a PSP personally, which has better games, better features and better graphics) but I detest how Nintendo have gotten their marketshare, with 6monthly updates of the DS, which offering very little new, constant breaking of backwards compatibility, and in particular the way they have fooled consumers with the Wii, pretending it's something new and exciting, when it's nothing that that PS2 wasn't doing 10 years ago, the drip feeding of stock and illusion of high demand than in turn drives high demand.
As a lover of Tech, it's ONLY Sony that are offering this. Unlike Microsoft, they didn't rush their console out the door before it was working, and having to strip off features that weren't ready (only to gradually add them back in later). Sure the PS3 may have been moderately high price at lauch (no more expensive that an iPhone, and MUCH more cutting edge tech), but thats what you get when you are an early adopter.
