All I can say is wow. Reminds me of some of the fanaticism that the North Korean government has created over many of its citizens. Yes, I went there. :p

I started camping out for black friday the day after thanksgiving last year :p

I don't camp for black friday, but I do start waiting the evening of Thanksgiving.

It's become tradition for me and my wife. We make our list, we get some hot chocolate and snacks (AND SOMEONE TO WATCH THE KIDS).

We can generally hit three or four stores, and be the first through the door, if we plan it right.

If the stores are setup right, then we can generally get in and out in approximately 15 minutes. FIFO.
 
Man people here go nuts for black Friday. I had to drive around to 6 different best buys and finally found one out in the middle of yo hoo land that didn't have a line that wrapped around it twice

I guess he wasnt able to order it on the interwebz and has nothing better to do in life other than camp out a week for something that if he drops from 3 feet up will shatter.

LOL @ Black Friday

There were some pretty insane lines here for black friday, I just yelled out "LA MIGRA" and casually strolled up to the front of the store while everyone else ran... kidding... maybe.
 
I have a routine on each Black Friday. I show up at Staples at 5AM, head in at 6:30 or 7 when they open, get a brand new external hard drive because surely the one I bought the last year will be full, head home and go back to bed.

This is just moronic though.

That reminds me of this video I saw on youtube once from Ari Shaffir - The Amazing Racist.. it was pretty messed up what he did but it was hilarious at the same time
 
So, is he going to just sit there for a week?? Christ, how will he shower? He's going to have to abandon it sometime to get food.

Also, I don't know the local ordinances for that particular area, but isn't camping on city property like that illegal?
 
I wonder what would happen if I were to spray paint something on his tent. Would he have to have someone get a new tent for him? Would he just cover it up? Questions that must be answered!

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would you need to wait? If you preorder the phone, can't you just go in and pick it up the day it comes out?

Greeting to everyone from your famous camper! This is my first official post for MacRumors. One of the users printed off a copy of the thread and brought it to me and I thought it would be fun to join the conversation.

Some would say I am crazy, but I say I'm a very determined fan. In fact I just might be one the biggest Apple fans you will actually meet. I have been the first costumer for this store since 2008 when the iPhone 3G was released.

Normally I only camp out over night, but since I do not work due to the fact I am disabled with a seizure disorder and I am not in school at the point, I figure I just make it a fun experience and do it for a week.

Yes I did reserve a phone, but again, I'm doing it for a fun experience. I haven't had a trip or vacation in past 10 years so I figured I make it a full week camping trip.

My setup and location has everything I could need to live for a week, even in the Texas heat. Tent is packed with a sleeping gear, a chair, full ice chest of drinks and food, and the Apple staff have been very nice to me treating me like a king. LOL I also brought a extension power cord for phone charging and things that need power. There is even a portable toilet around the back of the store if needed.

That been said, I'm actually doing really well out here. If anyone gets a chance, come join the fun!

I wonder... if he's allowed to camp there. Can I camp next to him and set up an Android booth to show people phones?
 
You know, after reading that post and that hes doing it for a fun experience, I think its cool. There's nothing wrong with wanting to do something fun and different for a change.

Well, you are right, he is nuts. With the phone preordered he still decides to camp out and wait for the phone in line for about a week. To me, I don't find camping on a street a great and enjoyable experience, but maybe thats just me.
