My wife has been having a few issues with her mother, and I haven't the heart (or COURAGE!) to tell her I know exactly how she feels, because most all of the things that irritate her about her mom she has inherited...

Early in our marriage I figured out how to get out of being asked to go to the store and buy feminine hygiene products for the Darling Bride. I'd just buy the wrong thing. Deliberately. She'd yell that she wanted ultra-overnight-winged-superpads or something and I'd show up with ultra overnight liners. She eventually went to the store BEFORE any anticipated emergencies and bought her own stuff off that bewildering wall of absorbent whatevers.

^^^ Tom and Ray Magliozzi (aka Click ‘n Clack, the Tappet Brothers) had a discussion about things their wives wanted them to do. When it came to laundry one of them said his wife had asked him to do laundry, and he purposely made a mess of it: didn’t separate things, used too much soap, etc. The result was that she never asked him to do laundry again! Hahaha
