Is the any point to having both Chrome and Google search on my phone? Between the two programs they take up a lot of space on my phone

My Alcatel touch fierce stays at Alcatel touch fierce when I start it.It doesn't do anything after that I tried rebooting it but that doesn't work have any ideas.Itstarted happening when I turned it on at morning.Last night it was working.

So a month ago I got a nexus 5 to replace my Alcatel, I still use the phone as a media player, just now I got message of a mandatory update, has anyone got this? Didn't see the other post on the update sorry.
