Can my Boost Mobile S2 (Epic Touch 4g) be rooted if it's running GC01 ?

Every time i go into my device settings and click on say Display or storage settings it goes black screen then to the home screen in 5 seconds without even saying anything went wrong someone please help? :confused:

After starting my phone, I often find apps are missing. Usually 1-3 are missing, but I have had as many as 6-10 go missing. Anything can go missing; it isn't the same apps over and over. All I have left for each is a gray icon that can't be used. Restarting might bring back some or all of them...
