I have the same problem and got after upgrade "error while searching for networks" after manual search instate the network list around me. At the moment my LG540 is in my preferred network, but on travel in roaming I am sure to have the essential need of that. Is there any solution visible in the next time?

Sorry about the late reply, I got a similar brick because my partitions were incorrect when I was restoring a nandroid backup.

Check if you can get into fastboot, and use Mur4ik's bootloader builder to set 150MB system partition for GB, then try to flash again (this is only if you have access to fastboot.)

If you can only get to download mode, your only option is to flash 2.1 with fastboot through KDZ, then flash GB again however if you have resized partitions it could cause more problems because I am not sure on the 2.1 size (it is LG's 2.1 afterall)

the KDZ could have a MBN file in (used to resize partitions) and it could flash a new bootloader with the right sizes but I am not certain (never decompiled a KDZ myself)

After installing the 2.3.7 update, from 2.3.4, my phone seems to be stuck in airplane mode :s tried rebooting, but airplane mode just sticks on. The "mobile network" option at the bottom of that screen is also inaccessible :|
Any advice on that problem?

Did you install as an update? If so, try running the installer again but this time choose the install option not the update one. Its possible that a setting or file you had before is corrupting the new one.

I am having few problems after updating it .
1-When i play videos or streeam it .it appears with black lines passing through it

2-my phone get hang when it is in lock mode .i have to put off the battery and again insert it
3- my phone says force close even game is running background

Please help me

Hi, Not sure if this forum is still avtive, but here goes...

I tried the instructions above to upgrade my gt540 but after step 12, i can't get the phone into fastboot mode. I retried the instructions again, but still no joy. Would really like to upgrade the phone so that i can install apps on my sd card, phone memory is way too small.

Well this completely and utterly bricked my phone.
I can't boot into any recovery/download/emergency modes no matter what combination of buttons I press, cables I plug in or batteries/sims I remove.

This is bloody stupid.

I followed everything in this guide EXACTLY PERFECTLY and it still bricked my phone.

If you are having android 2.3 then simply press the power off buttom for few seconds .it will show a list ,there would you find screenshot button .just click it and a screen shot will be taken.(Image will be stored in sd card screen shot folder).

If you are having 2.1 or 2.2 then install screenshot app from from market

eu tentei fazer este turial para autilizar o meu lg que esta na versao do android 2.1 mas quando cheguei a parte do kdz para fazer o launch o programa de um erro e diise no phone found, eu instalei as drivers da lg tudo mas o computador continua sem reconhecer que o telemovel seja qual for o programa ja tentei instalar uma data de vezes as drivers e nada so da para mexer no cartao de memoria seu eu ligar o mass storage de resto nada quando eu ligo o telemovel ao pc nao acontece nada nao abre um programa nada, tambem tentei instalar o lg pc suit mas ele diz que o telemovel esta disconectado, e assim nao a consigo atualizar como e que eu posso fazer para eu resolver isto, eu preciso mesmo de atualizar o telemovel como e que eu posso fazer com que o telemovel se ligue ao pc eu ja fiz de tudo

I tried to do this Turial autilizar my lg in this version of android 2.1 but when I got the part of the KDZ to make the launch of a program error and diise found the phone, I installed the drivers lg everything but the computer continues without acknowledging that the mobile phone whatever program I tried installing a date times so the drivers and nothing to stir the memory card if I turn on the mass storage of anything else when I turn on my mobile phone to the pc nothing happens not open a program nothing, also tried to install lg pc suit but he says that the mobile phone is disconnected, and thus not get the update as I can and I do to fix this, I really need to update the mobile phone and how can I do with the mobile phone to connect to pc I've done everything

Today, life has been extended to my LG Optimus GT540 with the update from 2.1 to Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread (SwiftDroid). My GT540 was partly crippled. It had run out of internal memory and the Market application was no longer working. Thanks to the upgrade, the unit is now working again. I had delayed trying to upgrade as I heard so much about "bricking" of phones. Now I am glad I did the upgrade which went very well. Many, many thanks to "cagsabit" and the "SwiftDroid" Team. Yes it works!

hello all
I tried to make the update but in the last step I put my phone in Fastboot mode but windows trying to find a device "Android" which they dont find it. I install the LGAndroidDriver but still nothing. I have windows 7. I tied with the zip file in windows xp too but I have the same problem

Prepare the phone by enabling USB Debugging by going to Settings>Applications>Development>Enable USB Debugging and connect the phone to the computer via USB cable and wait for the drivers to install for the phone. Sometimes the computer still won't recognize the phone, if this is the case, try this: Windows Vista and 7 users press start and type device manager (Windows XP users right click 'My Computer' and click properties, then click the Hardware tab and click Device Manager) then locate LGE Android Platform Modem, right click it and click disable. Accept any warnings that come up. Also, make sure you've disabled Mass Storage Mode on your phone. To do this, go to Settings>Storage>Enable Mass Storage, and untick the box.

I install 2.3.7 version flawless. It is working great . I found only one bug that is very annoying. When you receive or making a call the screen doesn't lock and I keep pressing buttons with my ear. I tried the proximity sensors option but it is not working. Does anyone else has the same problem or found a solution?
