You need to put the phone in emergency mode, then put kdz in emergency mode also and you'll be able to redo the update. This happened to me as well and freaked me out for about an hour until I finally found a solution. LOL To put in emergency mode (not download mode but they look the same!) you have to first pull the battery. Next hold the volume down and power buttons and plug in your USB cable without the battery installed. It should then turn on and be in emergency mode.

Thanx ... it works good..i menaged to intal this android 2.3.7 but i don't like the touchscreen calibration ....it is unpecisious...example when writing a mesage...i click on letter O but it shows that i clicked P is there solutio for that problem ? thanx again....

Hi ,After installing the 2.3.7 update, from 2.3.5 my phone dosen't boot in recovery mode, it remaning in black screen, i try with home + power and reboot in recovery from shutdown menu and both return same problem.
I have olso another problem, samba file sharing never working , the installation faild and return error that can't send command to shell, on 2.3.5 working fine.
Any advice on those problem?

I also had a successful update from 1.6 tp 2.3.7 - one helpful note when rebooting the phone while holding camera and power button - press both buttons and release power while continuing to hold down camera

Hello Everyone

I tried to follow the instructions that is given in here.
I had Android 2.1 update 1... i tried to install the fastboot rom and the process was fine but when tried to install the .exe of Android 2.3.7 the software asks me if i need an install or an update (it was mentioned that 2.1 users need to install) ... so i clicked the Install the program say finish(the installation was done)...... nothing has happened on to my phone(i.e no 2.3.7)...

I noticed that the files are getting coped to my PCs C: drive only (system.img).


Can some one tell me whats that i am making a mistake.. To be honest i am new to Android, so please help me to get over this issue.

i am up to the part where you install gingerbread with the .exe, it gets to the part where it erases user data from my phone and then my computer has a kernel panic. any suggestions as to why?

I use my LG GT540 to connect my laptop to the internet, I just updated to this ROM and now I cannot connect to the internet using the LG phone suite. This connection is somewhat crucial to me at the moment as i cannot afford a better connection and I live in a house where the phone line has been disconnected.

Go to settings, Wireless and networks, Teathering & Portable hotspot, then hit Portable Wifi hotspot, then connect to the phone using your PC's Wifi connection if it has one, if not you will need to setup a USB teather, however I have not had much luck with that one but it can all be done from your phone.

Just adding that LG Phone Suite will not work with this ROM because it's not an official LG ROM.

this is my first time doing this upgrading things... i just upgraded my lg-gt540 from 2.1 to 2.3.7... i follow all the instruction and its works fine for me... its just that my phone work a bit slower than before i tried this link.. but it on alien language.... THANKS by the way! this is the simplest guide that i found!

It sounds like you need to set your APNs, you should beable get the information off yours carrier's website, if not give them a call and and they should beable to give them to you.

when you have them go to settings, wireless and networks, movile networks, access point names, then hit the menu soft button and hit new APN, then put the information in you should then beable to access the internet.

If you have set APNs, it may simply be there is no 3g signal near you.

I've got to hand it to you, the 2.3.7 lockscreen is sweet! But I've got a problem that came up when I was on 2.3.5 and still didn't work when I updated.

Whenever I try and use the camera, even if it's through an app that uses the camera, the screen just stays with the backlight on until you press something like home or back. The message that pops up when you press something is 'sorry! Activity Camera (in application Camera) is not responding.' you can either force close or wait.

If you wait, the whole process just repeats and if you force close then you are returned to your previous screen. I've tried waiting for 20 minutes before I pressed anything and no matter how long you wait it will just not work!

I've tried reflashing, reseting, erasing all data but I can't fix it.
Please help me someone, I'd really appreciate it.

Into Quick Settings I can see that Mobile Data 3G appear ON, but at top of the screen appear "E".
The APN settings are ok.

Sorry but from I can tell from my research, you won't be able to get 3G on this phone. It seems that Panama uses the 1900 band for 3G but this phone only has 850, 900 and 2100 for 3G. On this phone 1900 is Edge only.

This could be the reason, i'm not too sure on the spectrums used for 3G, but it would be a good explination as to why you cant get 3G Juan2308.

Did id 3G work before you updated?

I have had the 2.3.5 working on my LG Optimius GT540 for about 3 months, But today it just froze during the loading part of the Cyanogen and has continued to do so. Is their away to fix this or a way to get the stuff back from when i originally brought it?

I would think it is a problem with the boot files, if you have a nandroid backup you can restore that and it should fix the problem.

October 2.3.7 version worked fine for me. Yesterday I updated to November ASIS version and it caused big problems: constant crash-and-reset. Then I reverted to October version, and that kept locking up. So I did a clean install (rather than update) of November ASIS version, which necessitated a whole evening of tinkering -- but now everything seems to be running better than ever before.

In addition, it works great on GT540f - I thought it was unable to apply this but actually it works seamlessly. And during the process of 5 ~ 13, the phone looked unstable but eventually it went right after installing actual GB firmware. Amazing!

Everything works great, as the last poster said, looks unstable through the update process but then comes good after installing the final firmware.

Wifi works, wifi hotspot works. internet works.

Only thing that was bad is my contacts were erased from my sim card.

But other than that it seems great so far.

It is working great, I am happy again with my phone. But I was pretty scared about "brick" it. The guy from a well know tech expert store refused to do it for me, he said that was 80% chances to fail. So I had to figure it out myself.

First, I'd like to say thanks for this post and custom ROM. Everything installed perfectly. However, just yesterday, the phone developed a strange problem.
Callers cannot hear me speak and neither can I hear them.
Also when I call, I also hear nada. total silence.

Anyone know how to fix this?
