Root 06 mountdl script

Did you.follow.the.process to the letter? Including all format, patch recovery, reboot recovery, format again, nandroid and patch boot?

Didney format again, ohno. Clockwork recovery was reporting mtd written and that. Today I'm goin' for coffee with a friend.

Yeah you have to format so there is nothing there pertaining to stock partitions. Then patch CWM. Then advanced>reboot recovery to load CWM with patch. Then format again so should read new sizes. Nadroid restore then patch boot.img so boot recognises new values.

Any extra spaces, words or letters in mtdpartmap.txt or in the file name will cause it to fail, but you will still get successfull flash of patch messages. It doesnt give an error as its only reporting on the flash of the patch not the patch itself.

Roger Beep Dan. When the sun go down and I be home in Wales yey, I'll try it again................and again............and again.

I have officially given up, until the next time I can be bothered. Its not as if I need the memory. When you say recovery do you mean 1.5.3.zip?

no, the actuall cwm/amonRA recovery
the 1st zip patches it so in order to return into to stock without flashing the hboot you just reflash the recovery

You patch recovery once with the values and patch boot for every new rom you flash.

To return to a non custom mtd, like rasta says, reflash an unmodified recovery

It's just as easy to flash the SPL, I guess your advocating recovery as its a less riskier flash?

In that case how difficult is it for someone who knows what their doin to write different values into recovery? It would simply be a matter of choosing the zip with the values closest to what you want. Would be so much easier than the custom mtd multi flash multi wipe multi format shenanigans that confuses plebeians like myself.

Custom MTD overrides the values of the partition layout. You can flash any Hboot sizes from alpharev, but if recovery is patched with specific custom values, it is these that will be in use. You could flash any hboot partition at all and it would make no difference. So you have to reflash recovery to leave custom MTD as there is no unpatch.

Theres just one patch zip which reads the values in your mtdpartmap.txt. So you put your custom values in, patch recovery and reboot recovery. Then if you wish to change sizes, repeat that (not forgetting to restore nandroid and patch boot too.

I have a 1.5.6 remove tool that I have used and had no issues with in the past, I think its for the G1 and I used it by mistake. I'll put it in the drop box if anyone wants to give it a go.
