Help 1.13.604 Update adds "Dead Pixels" in Camera?

i noticed some green dots while i was using the bar code scanner app last night BEFORE the update. I have not updated my phone as of this morning. I didn't really think much of the dots while using the bar code scan app. Not sure if it has anything to do with what you guys are experiencing?

Ya bummer I have a red one on the left hand side..but its not a huge deal becaue it doesnt show up in any pictures so I can deal with that...what exactly did it do to the camera though it doesnt seem any faster when opening the app or switching. I will say this Camera blows away the Droid Incredible 8mp...

those of you with issues try camera360 and let us know if you still see the pixelation that you experience with the moto camera app

wonderful news for you guys, so it seems the MOTO camera app is the issue. Please do advise anyone you see with this issue to download the camera360 app as a alternative solution until moto fixes this.

seems ok here as well.

this phone is starting to have some pretty big issues =/

Haha I wouldn't call this a big issue. If it doesn't effect the pictures its not really a big deal. I can live with having one pixel a different color especially if its only in the dark.

Everyone here is crazy except for a few. These are simply digital artifacts caused by lighting conditions. Need to stop reading these threads. The DroidX is hands down the best phone I have ever owned. The amount of whining about superficial BS is really starting to bug me.

I could not agree more. My display is fine by the way...

same here...had no problems with cam..did update last night/this morning at like 3am..just checked after seeing this. I NOW have 1 dead white pixel almost dead center of my screen. CAN ASSURE YOU IT WAS NOT THERE BEFORE HAND as ive been using the camera like crazy.

downloading this camera360 app you speak of now

Edit** downloaded camera360 app...doesnt have a flash feature...going back to standard moto app..ill deal with that 1 dead pixel for now

my display is fine...but after reading this thread i looked at the video camera and i saw a red dot...and then i took a video....and i could see it on my video.

so no whats verizon gonna do for us or about this? this update very well caused this. i just went thru all my pics and no red dot is there...now there is? so yay we have a great camera that will have red dots on the pics...

I have 3 different colored dots.. 1 directly inside the auto-focus square! :/. At least Verizon is sending me a replacement today because of a different issue mine had. I'll let you guys know when I receive it (and update it) if it has the issue. It's weird that when you use the digital zoom the dots grow larger, too.

I have to agree with rjoudrey. I too noticed one tiny, blue dot only in the 720p recording mode. It did show up in the video, as minute as it was, it kind of annoyed me. Needless to say it was shot in a rather dim room. So I went outside and shot in plenty of light against both white and black backgrounds, and voila! No longer there.

I think people are just hearing HD video and forgetting the fact that this is a phone, and in all honesty, probably the best one one on the market. Its not the latest 3CCD, broadcast quality HDCam, you're going to go shoot your feature film on. Regardless, if you light your scenes properly, you'll more than likely pull some great results.
