Accessories $15 - 2600mah Extended Batteries - eBay

Silicon cases offer more than just back protection. Number one fail point with a drop is the bezel area and the energy is then transferred to the display. I dropped mine on concrete from about three feet and I watched it bounce after hitting the corner. I am about 100% certain if that happened with my current 2600 & fatty door, my bezel would be cracked along with the display.

Everything has a good and bad point. In this case, more battery, for less protection. Key reason why it would be more safe with the hump design, since you could then augment a silicon cover to protect the bezel.

Still torn about the fatty, since I do like the space for stowing microsd cards and the device can be stood up in portrait or landscape. Nice, but at the expense of being exposed for a drop...

Couldn't agree more with you. My comparission was that the Incredible with the fatty back is more durable then a naked Incredible with the 2150 back or stock back. As it gives more durabiliity on the back and protects the vulnerable camera. But the front is still unprotected , I guess you could install Bumpers and a nice Screen Guard but I doubt that would provided much extra protection for the price.

I'm sticking with the fatty back for everything but bike rides (I change into the hump with case or stock battery with body glove just incase of a horrible 30mph fall lol)

Hoping my situation was a fluke today, but the 2600 went from lasting about twice as long as the stock to about equal to it and less than the 1750....

I expected the retention of charge to not last as many charge cycles (you usually get what you pay for), but I expected several months, not days. Follow-up tomorrow.

Ya that would suck since I just bought a 2600mAh off ebay....

So after about a week with the fat back , I still really liked it but I dropped my phone a few times with no damage to the phone itself but the cheap hong kong cover is now very loose and it lost that great heavy duty feel that I loved about it.
I took it off and am now back to the verizon hump but with the ebay battery in it.
Bummer as I really really enjoyed the feel of the fat back

Perhaps I got a bummer 2600, but mine now lasts no longer than the 1750. In fact, I went back to the 1750, since I like the silicon case protection more than the fatty space for spare SD cards.

It did last longer the first few days, so probably not a placebo. Over the past four days, the power bar appears to accelerate to red once it hits the halfway point. Kind of like a gas tank. The 2600 did not behave this way for the first few days of use.

YGWYPF ;) :(

I'm also having the same issue. The battery lasted a lot longer the first 3 days but now doesn't last as long. It seems to drain a lot quicker now. How many other are noticing this?

After 2 weeks I'm getting better and better battery life out of my ebay battery .

hey guys, first post, but I just spent some time reading this whole thread and have came to a few conclusions and still have a few questions.

Conclusions

The ebay batteries will provide you appx the same charge as the 2150 will, in most cases more, and it is much cheaper.

There is a "hump back" and a "fat back" cover.
FAT BACK
The fatback is thick throughout, yet hollow at some points. You sacrifice some protection with the fat back, because of the hollowness. Also, the speaker is obviously limited without holes. The camera and flash are not impacted. Some covers from eBay have speaker holes, some do not. Regardless, this is not hard to drill.

HUMP BACK
You can buy a hump back cover from verizon for ~$20, or it will come with the extended battery you buy from them.
The 3200 Innocell 3500mAh Extended Life Battery For use with HTC Droid Incredible
is an example of a hump back. So is the 2150 from verizon, i believe?
You can get a CASE for the hump back through seidio also, $30

Please correct anything I said

My questions are these...

Has anybody found a suitable CASE for the fat back that only surrounds the back and edges, and doesn't cover the front (so not a "wallet like" case)

Does the Premium Executive Bergamo European Leather Pouch Case cover the front of the phone? the amazon picture only shows the back.

How does the silicon fit?

Ideally I am looking for a hard plastic or even silicon case that can fit around the edges and back of the fat battery.

Someone said they found a loose silicone case they thought would work with the fat back case; but then they never wrote anything else about it.....

Any new updates from users of the 2600mAh on how the batteries are holding up after several cycles? I'm still waiting on my 2600mAh but I have a feeling these batteries are gonna work great for the first week or so then start to not hold a charge very long and be about as good as the standard battery or worse...

I'm on a few weeks with it now and it's still working insanely great

they are just batteries guys. If you can't scientifically demonstrably prove that they are either better or worse than other batteries then go off of the mah rating, adjusting for at most -400 mah. Anyone who goes back to a 2150 or less because they 'feel' like it's not lasting as long... well I feel sorry for that person. Every day's usage is different, and there's just too many factors involved in battery use, most of which you will be oblivious of, and the rest of it is pure placebo or sub-conscious self-delusion.

If you really want the longest battery life, just use the highest mah battery, because without official tests, that's all you can go on and still be objective.

Do you bump charge or is there no bump charging with this battery?

I actually charge my battery in an external charger at night and put one of my other batteries in my phone.

But if you do charge it in your phone you will need to bump charge and it will take up to 45minutes to complete a bump charge. It's not a battery problem it's the phone that is stoping the charging at 100% while plugged in and then your phone is running on battery while it's plugged in draining while you sleep.

I've gotten as much as 40hrs Uptime and 15hrs awake time on this phone on pretty light usage and gotten as worse as 20hrs up time 8hrs awake time with heavier use .
It's a great battery for the money (but like others have said , you could possible get a bunk battery. I may have gotten lucky mine actually says it's a 3000mah battery on it) I still want to buy a seidio 3500mah battery and use it with the 2600 fat back, as I'd really like to get closer to 48hrs Uptime and if my phone is gonna be slightly on the obese side I might as well put the biggest damn battery I can in it

OK...so I am a little confused...

Is there a package deal that includes two 2600mAh batteries, an external charger and the thick phone back cover with the speaker holes for just over $20?

I know the package exists...but was wondering if the back cover had the speaker holes...

The only one I have seen with the speaker holes doesn't come in a package deal like the above...

Is my understanding correct that recent orders of all these cases now includes holes for the speakers?

Thanks all...

I can't really tell you if it will have holes in it or not, I do know that mine came with holes but it showed them in the picture. I gotta believe that they are coming from the same place . Maybe after sending them with no holes they were changed to with holes.
either way you can put your own holes in, which you kinda will need to do with the one that has holes anyway as speakerphone sounds is pretty low and muffled with the fat back.

I got my Ebay 2600MAH Battery today in the mail, going to give it a good charge tonight and see how long it will last me.
My day starts at 5am and I dont shut the phone off till 9pm or later, so if it last me at least 10 hrs without charging it I will be happy, except for the fact that my nice slim phone is a little bulky now.

My 2600 appears to have settled down to a little better than the 1300 and a little worse than the 1750. Lasted longer than the 1750 for a few days, but dropped after that. Almost like a cell module failed, or depleted, but not sure if this battery is set up in series or parallel, for that to make sense.

Very steady and good reports about the Seidio 3500, so I bought one of those. I actually prefer the hump (for grip and propping) over the fatty and the camera is still protected. Also, no more projection issues for the speaker. Able to mod a silicon case to protect the bezel from falls as well- could not do this with the fatty and the bezel corners are the main points for breaks when dropped (energy displacement is a bich').

Of course, the negative is it cost almost five times the $13 battery. Still, my focus is convenience and do not want to carry two batteries. So far, the 3500 has held up to the average of most reports. Can easily go two days with this puppy and a twelve hour day of browsing, vids, games and some music. 1300, 1750 and the 2600 all choked way early in the day with heavy use like that. Since the 1750 has also served me well, it seems the Seidio's also fit "you get what you pay for", but in a good way. Still, $41 for the 1750 is steep.

I would gladly take a $13 2600- if the thing worked well, beyond a few days, but I can not be bothered to luck out and find one that does.

added:

Not tested GPS drain factor though, since I only use it for trips.

added #2:

For freak's sake: $41 + $13 + $63 = My dumb a55 has spent $117 on batteries!!!! Oh well, if I keep them all charged, I will have some juice for the next ice-storm...... :(

I'm still waiting for my 2600mAh... :(

I may just go buy a VZW 2150mAh and be done with my battery issues; I'm hoping the Hong Kong battery might work but I'm doubtful...

I'm gonna end up like you rushmore...I already bought a bidallies (eBay) OEM TP2 1500mAh that I am currently using (still way better than stock 1300mAh as of 2 weeks of use) that was $14 shipped, have a 2600mAh coming that was $12 shipped, then I may buy the 2150 VZW that is $45 (after my discount)...so $71 for batteries!

I did however score a 32gb microsd from verizon for $50 (they had a major screwup with online pricing...I should have bought 20 of em) then I sold that on ebay for $100 so I'm +$50 for that so I could buy the 2150mAh VZW for free (I love to rationalize) ;)

I have two 2150 batteries one has barely been used I'll sell it for $40 with my Silicon Case modified (not the cleanest modification, definetly no DrPheta ha)

I got in on that same VZW 32gb deal plus they gave me another $12.50 off with discount. Awesome job Verizon love ya

Yep, got two 32gb myself for the missed price myself :)

I think that finding a cheap eBay 2600 battery that will sustain the mah life beyond a few charges is a case of blind luck.
