I subscribed to this forum just to say this the new android SUCKS it is the worst thing that has happened in the cell phone industry ever I hate it I want my old android 1.X back

I have come across a bug in the android 2.1 update.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Send an email to an account setup on your phone.
    • I use a comcast account on my phone
    • The email account is set to NOT delete mail from the server
  2. Check the email from your phone and check it at comcast
    • I used a browser to check my comcast account
    • The email was found in both places
  3. Delete the email on the phone
  4. Delete the email in the trash folder on the phone
  5. See that the email disappears from the comcast server
Step five should never happen since the account is setup to NOT delete from the server. This is a fatal error and I have lost valuable emails.

Have been waiting for this 2.1 update to come assuming it would give me a notification to apply the update. Today, just out of curiosity, I checked the phone info and it says firmware version is 2.1-update1. Could this have happened automatically? I saw no update notifications come through but it apparently updated. Am I losing my mind??

This is a fun one: just plugged my moto Droid in while on a B737 an tried to use my phone. The touch screen went crazy.... I could almost see the angry little electrons touching the screen 3 different places every time I tried to enter the pass code. Unplug the phone and all is well. Anyone heard of/know why this happened?

My phone reset it's self last night nd a few times before that.

after i make a call the screen go's black and i can't hang up the phone. sometimes i have to slide my phone open to show keyborad to get my screen back. my wifi is mess up also when i try to connect at home it ask me for a wireless password (never did that before).
on other note i been wanting for flash to come out it comes out but only for 2.2 o/s WTF!!!

After updating to 2.1, any video that I take with the phone itself won't play back correctly. The video will load, it will start to play but seconds into it, the video starts to get choppy while the audio plays on in the background uninterrupted until finally the video stops all together and a message 'Sorry, this video cannot be played' appears on the screen. All the while, the audio from the video never stopped or became choppy like the video did.

I noticed however, that if I launch the video from within Astro File Viewer, it plays fine using the stock 'Movies' selection, but that seems like a pain the butt.

I had the same thing happen to me the one and only time that I plugged my Droid into an airplane power outlet. The screen would go crazy when touched. The touchscreen was inoperable while plugged in to the outlet. It would be interesting to know what was causing this.

I'm curious on where the outlet was located? A lot of planes run their own 400HZ power systems. This is basically 7 times faster frequency than normal. Which could make for a major problems. Lately, airlines have been providing various types of plug ins that are different voltage ratings (IE 16VDC). Unless the outlet was marked as 110V / 50 or 60 HZ, I'd be suspect of it on an airplane. It's probably best to use an outlet in the terminal instead of the plane.

All attachment in any email when I try to open them says fatching attachment for a few seconds then says data connection failed. Also when I was using the GPS system it would work for a while then it would say data connection failed.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Ok, i've had my droid since, i believe last november, and it has been great. I recently got it switched out because of a button problem. I got a new phone, and man, that one was great...until i got the looping boot restart problem.

This happened to me as well a few days ago. But it only happened once... strange~ I just took the battery out and tried turning it on, and it hasn't happened again

i need help! i thought i had rooted my phone an i see the supersuser ninja there, has a black screen when i click on it.. i guess thats ok, i used RSD lite to get it, the day after i thought i had finally rooted it, i downloaded rom manager but clockwork mode shows as unknown as current default, and it shows me the upgrade to lates version 2.5.0.1 i get a message saying i dont have permission to run privileged commands! so i dont know what the problem is..
when i put my phone in recovery more i see on top the words Clockworkmod v2.0.1.3 and i dont see any options to get out of here.. what can i do.. am i rooted or not, if i am how can i fix it and if im not how the heck can i get rid of this problem.. i need help

So, I keep getting a message saying I am low on system memory. Yet, I have never had that before even with all the apps I have had. After I First got it I started to delete them and it still would say it.

Even with my texts messages it would say they are full, which I would have a few texts in my inbox, but my point is I have never had this message before. I understand what it means, it is just that my pics, videos etc are on my memory card, except APPS. So why is it starting to do this now and how can I fix it without deleting everything?

(Could it have to do with all the APP updates all the time)

Thanks ahead of time guys! Much Appreciated!

I am now locking and unsticking this thread since Android 2.2 [Froyo] is due to release any day now.

A similar thread will be made for 2.2 [Froyo] as soon as the OTA begins to drop.
