2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

asked in another thread but more appropo here

and i think the answer is no but

anyone who has got the OTA, do you have the friendstream app?

im pretty sure i saw someone claim they got the OTA on v2...

Yeah, I saw that too, but I'm reading what people are saying on Twitter and they are absolutely stressing that they have the latest leak v.3 and that they want to know if they'll get it. They are being told yes.....soooooo...yeah.

@VZWSupport I know it is OTA but if I have the latest leaked version will I still be able to recieve the update OTA?

@jbenhase If you have the leaked verision you will still receive the update. *AN

still nothin in Athens, OH... oh well, I've been waiting for months, I guess I can wait another 10 minutes to 12 days...

also, to anyone with the OTA update, is text messaging less laggy??

I know this is going to improve the phone and all, but the intensity displayed itt is weird. Unless 2.1 comes with a free money or ******* app, it seems like everyone could take it down a notch. It will still be the same phone, somewhat improved.

just for the record - you dont have to do anything in order to get the update, right? it should just "fall into your lap" and show in your status bar that you have a system update available?

also, does anyone know if 2.1 will support bluetooth connection to macbooks?

There are certain glitches in the leaked versions that can make the phone unusable...such as the bug that makes your sound turn off until you reboot. Basically you don't know it's kicked in until you get a call and can't hear anyone, and they can't hear you.

Nothing here in Southern Cali, i've got Leak V.3...i'm just really hoping to get the Cell standby problem fixed. I know about the work-around but it gets annoying because i've gotten into the habit of always checkin the percentage every so often.

Hey all - I'm trying to get my command prompt set up to use logcat should I receive an OTA update notification. Is there a way to actually test this process and see if I'm doing it correctly? I just tried testing it out by updating an app from marketplace, but I don't seem to be getting results. (most obvious difference is no firmware changes are occuring with an app update)

Any thoughts on whether I can test this? I only have one shot to get it right so I just want to maximize potential for success here.

I feel for all of you fellow Eris owners who have been feverishly f5'ing this page to see if you can finally get your update today instead of in two weeks. If I can help, I'd love to.

Well I can't exactly speak for everyone else waiting in anticipation, but I am currently having insurmountable problems with the speed of my phone that this update should resolve. For example, it's constantly freezing up for a period of 10+ seconds every time I try to go to the home screen. In addition, text messaging lags when I type to the point where it freezes for a second, then enters the alternate symbol (aka instead of the "hello" I get "h3llo"). Numerous other examples but I don't wanna take away from the topic at hand...

...basically my phone is near unusable on 1.5 considering my level of patience with technology, 2.1 should resolve the majority of my problems, thus explaining the intensity

Hate to go "off topic", but I just want to help. This kind of lag is NOT normal and to me indicates that your phone needs some major maintinance and if that doesn't help, it's a lemon phone.

I'm on 1.5 and have been patiently waiting for 2.1 since December. Now that the OTA roll out has begun I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the notification.

Ok...I'll ask again.....I'll try to be nice too...lol

How do you go about deleting your cashes?
Thank you in advance for taking time to answer my noob question. (noob refered to me)
