2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

The one question I have is, on the Verizon .pdf posted on here, it says: "The Droid Eris software version ROM: 2.36.605.1/Radio: 2.42.00.04.12 update includes numerous enhancements and improvements."

Same ROM and Radio that I already have on 2.1V3. No update for V3 people then?

Some of the stuff that the official OTA will bring is not currently on the v3 leak.

Wouldn't that indicate a change in the ROM sequence? Generally speaking.

Who knows, all I know is that the official OTA is to have stuff that the v3 leak doesn't. Take that for what you will, I'm ******ed when it comes to this rom stuff.

Maybe, but the update goes into the internal memory, am I correct on that?

I believe so, also for those that don't know *#*#checkin#*#* polls the system to see if there are any updates scheduled to be pushed to your phone. It won't get you the update if its not scheduled for you. It can also find app updates.

I am not too sure if anyone has suggested this but I am using MyBackupPro and backing up everything to my SD card AND mounting it AND backing up the whole SD card to my local drive on my PC.

Is this a good suggestion?

Astro has a backup tool, and I've used it when updating the leaks, and it was very easy. My suggestion.
