2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

after that was this.

oh, ok... so now I take VZWSupport with a grain of salt... they keep back tracking on what they say initially

However, if that Dave guy on Facebook is correct about the software versions... then leak v3 is equal to that, and we probably won't be able to install over it? No? Sounds like they don't even know yet.

Couldn't they have just changed 1 lousy number?

Just finished downloading the update, it is installing now, took about 30 minutes, I know it's my first post but it did just happen. I'm in Northeast Ohio.:D

It the OTA is the same as the v3 leak, why would we want/need the update anyway? We've already got it... ?

Either way we will get it, whether we have to download it online, or we have to return our phones complaining that we have 2.1 and did not get all the features that other phones have while lying to them that we got our 2.1 OTA.

It will happen...it will happen.

For all we know right now, the OTA will not be pushed to our devices. (Those specifically running the 2.1 leaks) However, nothing concrete has come out that we will (or will not) be able to install the official 2.1 update to the device.

I wonder how many Eris' have been sold. The Droid probably has sold a lot more and there update took what about a week to complete? So I would assume ours will take less to get it to everybody.

I wondered that too and did some Googling. It was close to a million last year already. Probably 2-3 million total.

Anyone notice that this document changed?

No need to flame, they said they we're new.
Maybe they didn't know.

No matter what we will all have it eventually, we've waited this long a few more days if that's the case won't hurt.
