2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

I'm at work so I'm on and off the forum as needed. Rebooted and have been running Home and not Sense. Update kept all programs on each home screens as they were. Went to Sense home and my saved scenes were gone, so went back to home. Phone is faster. Some Icons are different. I know photos are bad, using laptop cam, Firmware 2.1, baseband 2.42.00.04.12, kernel 2.6.29-a033cb9a htc-kernel@and18-2 #1, Build 2.36.605.1 CL165907 release-keys, Software 2.36.605.1.

Please don't ask to post more pics, I will later tonight after 9pm when I get home. :D
 
mine is taking s long time as well, hit it 5 mins ago, nothing so far. I think their system is just being bombarded atm.

anyone here get it yet? Also will people who have the 2.1 V3 also recieve the update? I think they will being that the OTA is going to have the gallery app and the 2.1 V3 has no gallery app.

The OTA 2.1 will no longer have the gallery app. VZW has updated the documentation and removed anything about the 3D gallery app, which makes sense as the Incredible doesn't have it. The Eris is not going to get anything the Incredible doesn't have.

Seriously people, read the thread, at least the last couple pages before you ask questions that have already been addressed.

+1, the wife's Incredible doesn't have the Gallery app, and she just got it yesterday.
 
Even though the version number and everything is the same as 2.1 v3. Aren't some of the items in the release notes different than what is in the 2.1 v3?

Likewise, I bet they're not getting pinch-to-zoom in Google Maps, even though it's listed in the PDF. I'm hoping someone who got the OTA can tell us whether there's any difference between it and the v3 leak.

Just because Verizon says it's their, doesn't mean it is. You can never trust Verizon fully until you see yourself.

They updated the PDF. Only a few minor things look too be different. Since I just received an update to Google maps, I think that may take care of one of those differences.

on the brightside, if v3 is the OTA... then whoever is having issues (i.e. no audio) can go to Verizon for an exchange with no problem

What you "knew" is not true. They are not even the same size.

The only things they have in common are designation numbers.

The list of improvements, etc is quite different than the leak.

This is being posted in several threads and has been since the "coming soon" announcement was discovered with the PDF files on the Verizon site.
