I don't see any proof that you called Verizon and got switched over to HTC. Evidence please...

Yes. Someone posted photos of their phone receiving it.

It's hard for anyone to prove it *after* installing the upgrade, though, since their phone is completely identical to one with the 2.1 v3 leak. ;)
 
hey is it safe for me to use astro to back up my apps? i heard that using that you wont get updates from market, wondering so when OTA comes I'm not shit out of luck.
 
I was reading a few posts on XDA, and some are claiming they are receiving the OTA while running the v2 leak. Sorry if this is old information, just though I'd share.
 
You seriously want proof that they sent me to HTC? Seriously..clearly I cant give you proof of that. Also, there has to be SOMETHING that's different from the v3 to the official OTA.
 
for those of you on twitter, search Verizon Wireless Tech Support (VZWTechSupport)... they tweeted an hour ago saying "Droid Eris users should expect 2.1 updates by Sunday 5/16"

dunno if this is verified verizon account or not but it gives me hope anyway..

"VZWTechSupport" is unofficial. The official Verizon twitter accounts are: VZWOffers, VerizonNewsRoom, vcastmusic, and VZWSupport.
 
I talked to HTC..finally, and they ended up telling me that Verizon was rolling out the update as of yesterday but yes they are indeed spreading it out around the US starting in specific areas. They said that we should start to get it soon..
 
This is the PDF issued from Verizon. Unless I read it wrong (known to happen :))
the OTA should include the 3D photo gallery from the newest version of Sense, like on the Desire.

I dont know if this has been said before, but I am on 2.1 L3 and I can be in airplane mode and turn on my WIFI. I also have Pinch-to-zoom in photo gallery. But, google maps that was updated yesterday is still not pinch to zoom.

I'm not angry because I expected v3 to be OTA, but why did they post crap in the .pdf that isn't on the ROM? I know...I've read people who believe that it's a miracle that all of the departments worked together to get the update out. Well, God bless us! Eris users are obviously the chosen ones! :confused:
