2.1 released in UK?

I updated mines with Companion, however after update it was still 1.6. Not sure if this normal or what the upate was for??

How do i update through sony update service?

Using Root Explorer, edit build.prop from within the system folder.

Look for the following...

ro.semc.version.cust=xxxx-xxxx

and

ro.product.name=X10_xxxx-xxxx

Change the xxxx-xxxx to 1235-7379 (UK Generic)

If ro.product.name is just ro.product.name=X10 just add _1235-7379 to the end so it is ro.product.name=X10_1235-7379

Save.

Also you need to change the ro.semc.version.cust=xxxx-xxxx file in...

/etc/customization/settings/cust.prop

Then Save and Exit

Then switch the phone off, back on, and off again, then update via SEUS

It will say that you have the latest software but if you do a repair it will replace your nordic FW qith UK FW

That did it, I guess.... how do I check for UK FW. Also the rooting bit was a bit scary but it worked.

Been playing with 2.1 for over 24 hours now - and yes for those of you with long memories the update was out 2 days later than i predicted

My Sony Ericsson friend has been barred from my belated BF party lol

Confirmation added to that the mini has received said 2.1 update too if any interested
 
flashed 2.1 UK generic and i got a UEFA application on the phone...also when i checked software info it says World-1-4-8_2.0.A.0.504.Do you get these as well??

Yes thats what I got too, so I guess thats it. Anyway phone is running well and it rooted. Rooted it to get rid of moxia mail etc. Id like to have a go at changing the notification bar but that looks a bit scary.
 
i'd rather not root my phone so if theres another way round this can somebody please help?

I flashed my phone to nordic and its unbrabnded if that helps?

Cool...for me the notification bar is not that bad a bit larger than before but it is ok.Am glad I rooted it now I Can do what I want with it :D

OMG when are vodafone gonna release it? pls dont tell me i have to wait till december because i really dont feel like debranding my phone..

its easy, just flash it using the thread 2.1 to 1.6 guide.
then use the SEUS and you will get the uk release of 2.1
works and not a lot of hassle.
