2.1 root?

my son has a rooted phone and i would love to enjoy all the benefits he has. i have a hero with 2.1. can i root this phone? if so, i would appreciate a point in the right direction.

Thats The Hard way - Universal one Click - = Easy way. works for both .5 and .6

I've been reading the Forum to try and find out - Does the "SuperOne Click" method (xda developers) work with a Hero with 2.1? xda seems to have two separate links - one for the ONe Click and one for Hero 2.1 and that is what made me wonder. Thank you.

Ok - beleive the SUPER one click is said to work on the Newest Maintence update.
The Universal one click works on 1.5- 2.1 update 1
