2.11.605.5 OTA Update Has Started

I went to grab my phone to send a text 5 minutes ago and it was in the middle of the update.

**Edit** I suppose I should note that I am in Oklahoma City.

Is this the same EXACT thing as the leak that was posted on Android Police? I'm just worried they added something but I won't be able to get it since I already have the same version.

I'm pretty sure this is the same as on android police. I read somewhere that HTC blocked the manual update option because it was causing issues, and that we have to wait for the ota to hit our regions.

Says, Error SERVICE UNAVAILABLE Check for Software Update under Settings when service is available

WTF I want this last update to be gone. Nothing but problems since last update!!!!

Is there a way around this?

My phone just started the OTA update. Problem is, I'm rooted so I pulled the battery to stop the update. I heard you're not supposed to accept updates when you're rooted. How do I stop the update once I put my battery back in?

In Detroit area.. got update around 10:30pm. Is this supposed to give us our voicemail notifications back? What all is in thus update??

Mine started automatically around 10:30 in S. Jersey. Maybe it's me, but the phone definitely seems zippier and I received the original gingerbread OTA.

I got the update but my son sitting next to me is getting the service not available message. Network is working for him though.

Still waiting on my update. As mentioned many times in other posts, the order that people receive the updates has nothing to do with location. That's why like the one post above the poster has the update but his/her son right there does not. I find it interesting that everytime an update comes out people put so much emphasis on "where" people are getting the updates and then wondering why someone in the same town has it and they don't.

That said, I'll be happy when I get the update since I did get the original GB update and really miss the VM notifications. I've tried some alternatives and am not happy with any of them. I know that Verizon would have probably given me free visual VM (or whatever) until this fix, but I didn't feel like dealing with Verizon. :)

For the ones asking, the OTA going out now is the same exact one that leaked a few days ago at Android Police, nothing new if you updated with that leak..

Same here, my tbolt is giving me the service not available error but the other tbolt on my plan got it about 10:00 pm last night. It's now 2:00 am and I'm still getting the error.

I get the Service Unavailable message also.

Hopefully this will fix the network connection problem I am having. In the area around my house, which is mostly 3G with sporatic 4G, I am now only getting 1X. My wife has the same phone and still gets 3 and 4 G.

Quirky little bahstards, these Bolts.

I was able to download the earlier GB (version 2.11.605.0) and when I tried to run software update I too get the message "service unavailable". So I am guessing it will be pushed down to me at some point? But I saw someone say this new version is the same as the earlier version (605.0)? Can someone that has been able to get this new version (605.5) verify that voicemail notifications work? Also, any other improvements? Thanks in advance!

Well thanks to the craptastic battery life in this thing, I had DATA turned off and was running in WiFi when the update started around 9pm. Needless to say the update failed and it hasn't made another attempt. Like others, it won't DL manually.

This is another example of how "managing" battery life sucks. Put 12 hour batteties in phones running wide open with max settimgs. I know, I know...quit whining, it'll never happen. *sigh*

Edit: Anyone know if the update will be resent to devices attempted and failed?
