Root 2.2.2 Update root help!!!!!!

Hey,

I'm a new root user and I had my phone rooted properly in both 2.2 and 2.2.1 but I did another update before checking if rooted version was available and my phone was updated to 2.2.2 and it reinstalled the stock programs that MetroPCS provides. I want to re-root my phone but unable to do so. I even install SuperOneClick 2.0 V2 Beta1 and it fails to install Root and the Superuser program. Anyone else also running into this issue? If you have a fix to allow me to root the updated program I would appreciate to hear from you.

Update: Just tried Gingerbreak (correction on my spelling from prior post) v1.2 and it has been running for 30+ minutes or so. Does this usually take long?

I made the same mistake and updated my Optimus M to 2.2.2.... Was running gingerbreak root flawlessly on 2.2.1 until the update. Wiped superuser app from my device and havnt been able to re-root. Sux... The bloatware on this phone is insane. Still looking for a solution

i (regrettably) updated through LG's Mobile Update application on my desktop. the program informed me of an update, i thought it was the much awaited 2.3.

Mine also updated to 2.2.2, couldn't find a way to root it at all. Seems no go at the moment so I put 2.2.1 back on. I'm happy now :D

I also did the desktop update but it was automatically running in the background without me noticing it until the last minute. I lost all of my contacts but fortunately the Google and MetroBackup app managed to save all of my contact listing. However, I had to sacrifice all of my apps due to the bloatware. I want to revert back to 2.2.1 but unless someone can provide an update to gingerbreak or offer a safe tutorial to have it rooted again without loosing my contacts I would do so.

i'm sure we can find a safe way of reverting back to 2.2.1 on the Optimus M subforum. i was using Reppards CM7 GB ROM before the "upgrade" and was enjoying the ROM much. i'm downgrading to 2.2.1 ASAP.... i'm also removing the LG application from my desktop, haha.

I may downgrade but I'm eager to wait for the hopefully updated gingerbreak (if it comes out v1.3 soon) so I don't have tor reset my phone and go through the trouble of updating and re-uploading all the apps again. Unless someone has an easy procedure for me to do a proper backup (keep in mind that I'm still new in the rooting process) of all contacts and apps for me.

I bricked my phone then after a few hours I unbricked it, I updated my phone via that lg desktop updater then after a few more hours of trying I was able to get my meid/esn numbers in the right places so i could have phone service, then only to realize i wasnt on 2.2.1 and unable to root my phone haha. i miss my rooted optimus m =(. I'd be more then willing to donate if anybody can get 2.2.2 rooted =)) Thanks!!

if you've synced your contacts list to your Gmail account, you don't have to worry about backing that up. now, as far as backing up your apps--Astro File Manager, maybe? im sure there are loads of apps that can back up your.... apps.
