2.2 Came with no equalizer

Haha :D

Well my breakbeat collection sounds wonderful on my desire :D

Cheap pair of skullcandy in ear headphones and I can feel my ear drums wobbling beautifully!

I have such a large breakbeat collection. Missus doesn't like it though so I never get to play it.

I can just about sneak some ninja tunes by her though so not all is lost.

Audiophiliary (making up words is cool) apart, I'm loving DSP Android DSP page now that I've rooted again (thanks danfrance).

I realise it's a crime against sound to have the music how I want it, but I'll learn to live with the shame :D ... the music will help.

I hate Audiophiles! I am a musical snob and I have exceptional taste in music but I would NEVER tell anyone else how they should listen to their music!

Audiophillia is only one step away from....

Had a monster Krafty Kuts mix on the way to work this morning :D

i stated it was opinion from the off set but then someone started arguing with me saying im wrong.
If people want to enter a discussion with me on a forum thats made for discussion then im going to discuss am i not?

I was not meaning your good self kind sir :p

Your opinion was very well worded.

I download a lot of mixes and they vary in quality so an EQ is an added bonus so as to make them as good a quality as possible and also as loud as possible without losing too much quality.

Reading back I realise I did actually mean you but re-reading the posts they were not as strongly worded as I initially thought when in my sleepy state last night :o

As I said in my post above though I do feel there are occasions that an EQ would be beneficial.

:P

rare occassions as in bad mixes or dodgy recordings

unfortunately most people put the bass and treble up but leave mid range.
"Mega Bass" - i could kill sony for that

its not that i force my opinion , i just talk alot about everything hahahaha. im on permanent refresh mode

I actually like to add middle too.

Think of the EQ as the underwire on a bra. Thats the shape I make... And its not for any reason other than it sounds better to me ;)

buy some new ears - or get replacement drums

i quite often find that people have got so used to adjusting that they become accustomed to it and so when they listen to something normally it sounds wrong

Yeah me to had one ear syringed the other day and now have hearing like a bat in that one and hearing of an 80 year old man in the other...No EQ will sort that!

Too many years cuddling upto speakers in clubs chewing my gums :p

yea seriously not everyone has the same set of ears tho..and earphones, headphones, or speakers too.. an eq would be great! i like mixzing but there are some other good music players too so a global eq would be nice..

I'm using the MortPlayer as I can't stand the music players that do it via 'tags' (I think), as they completely ignore my folders which I've set up how I want...
The downside to this, yeah, no graphic equalizer.

So is there a player that has both going for it ?

O/T
And to the person who claimed it should be heard 'as is' clearly doesn't understand some simple physics... you don't have the same speaker/monitor system when it was mixed down. So it's NEVER 'as is' and should be adjusted to taste, let alone the people whom have hearing issue etc.

music should be heard as is
if you are equalising it then you are not listening to it as it should be listened too.
That being the case I'm surprised you can tolerate music being played by any phone considering what re-encoding into a compressed format does to it.

not really considering the most people who master music compress the balls out of it anyway. most modern music sounds the same on all formats as they compress it to reach 0db rather than mix it down properly.

also 320kbps is standard in most radio and club pre releases

i made an opinion, people chose to discuss that opinion so if they choose to do that then im going to discuss it right?????

also dont make such claims as "clearly doesn't understand". making such comment shows that you dont know the 1st thing about mastering and what its purpose is.

the purpose for mastering is the get the best possible sound and averaging it out for a variety of configurations/setups so that in most cases it sounds similar or the same with minimal fluctuation.
studio monitors are for recording and producing so you can hear specific things more clearly, not for day to day music. this is why mastering is generally done on a different suite to the recording suite

Some friends' phones get extremely bassy, tinny, or quiet when I'm talking to them, grating on my mind like 40-grain sandpaper that was soaked in mace being used for toiletry after a long night of booze and habaneros. Okay, exaggerated, but I really wanna mitigate stuff like this...

 Why isn't this in here already? It's supposed to be a SMART PHONE OS. This is dumb. I shouldn't have to deal with dumb phone sound problems on a smart phone. I can turn my phone into a vuvuzela and miniature cinema faster than I can make a phone call not suck so hard... this is wrong! They should make android a better PHONE before they go chasing iPads in the magical land of Jobs.
