Root 2.2 did not fix battery charge issue :(

Bug Splat

Android Enthusiast
I was hoping HTC would have fixed the charging issue with our Dinc but it looks like it still needs to be bump charged or what ever method you use.

Very disapointed :(

Why would they? It's a limitation placed in order to prevent overcharging the battery and/or damaging the phone. I doubt HTC cares about your 3-10% drop when you unplug your phone, since it saves exploding batteries/devices/hands...

I never see the need to "bump" charge anyways ... the extra 10 - 15 minutes you MAY get out of it isnt worth the hassle involved.

Bump charging gets me 2-3 extra hours not 10-15 minutes. Not a big deal for me since I just charge while in the car on the way to work. I've never had a phone that did this and none of them exploded. IMO its a bug and needs a fix.

I would never see 2 - 3 hour improvment out of it but i can see where you might want to do it.

I personally unplug it in the morning and plug it in when i got to bed ... thats it.
